The instant the thundercloud descended, Ral could not help but scream in agony.
Yet Thor remained unmoved, driving his goat-drawn chariot ceaselessly through the thundercloud.
The Thunder Battle Axe in his hand swung without pause, blasting out streaks of lightning.
It turned the thundercloud into an enormous light bulb, flashing and flickering as it shrouded the mountain peak.
The screams continued for an entire day.
By the third day, the thunder gradually subsided and the thundercloud dispersed, revealing a charred figure.
A ray of sunlight shot down from the sky, falling upon that dark silhouette.
Amid the rumbling of wheels, Thor drove his goat-drawn chariot down along the sunlight. He landed beside the charred figure and took a look, discovering that though the breath was exceedingly faint, it was still there.
Moreover, that breath, like a candle flame in the wind, was steadily growing stronger.
Thor waited for a while. Then a sound like fine rain arose, and cracks spread across the surface of the blackened figure.
Charred fragments fell away one after another, revealing Ral's figure.
"Phew..." Ral let out a long breath, his expression relaxing.
At this moment, he was unarmed and possessed nothing at all, standing naked before Thor.
Yet he had no mind to care about that. Right now, he felt like a newborn infant; being barely able to stand was already quite good.
There was not a shred of strength left in his entire body.
"The trial is complete," Thor said as he looked at him.
"Yes, it's finally complete." After resting a while longer, Ral said with a sense of relief, "Thank you, Lord Trial Envoy."
"If you want to thank me, then begin your next Trial of the Gods as soon as possible. I will remember you."
Thor stared intently at him for
