Background / History

Following the Dragon God’s death at the hands of the Five Great God Kings, his divine soul split into the Golden Dragon King and the Silver Dragon King. Gu Yuena, the Silver Dragon King, escaped to the Douluo Continent carrying the dragon race’s inheritance, then entered a long slumber beneath the Life Lake in the Star Dou Forest to heal her grave injuries. Her consciousness occasionally remained in contact with Di Tian during this period. 6 8

Gu Yuan’s return and the resonance of his Dragon God aura awaken her completely. She recognizes him as her Master and is overcome after waiting through countless ages for his return. 9

Her damaged origin prevents a full recovery until Gu Yuan gives her the Dragon God Heart, a crystal containing his complete laws of life and creation. Its power repairs her wounds and allows her to recast her origin. 10 12

After recovering, Gu Yuena helps establish a new future for the soul beast clan: restoring Star Dou Forest’s defenses, supporting the Soul Spirit Method, and preparing for a future war against the God Realm. She and Gu Yuan later spend two centuries strengthening Star Dou Forest beyond the easy reach of divine sense. 17 18

Gu Yuena is generally cool, aloof, and reserved, carrying the composure of someone who has endured countless years of isolation. Her decisions are practical and often ruthless: when Gu Yuan identifies Huo Yuhao as Tang San’s future pawn, she initially suggests killing him before accepting the plan to redirect his fate instead. 18

Despite her distant manner, she is deeply loyal to Gu Yuan and wholly committed to the revival of the dragon race and soul beast clan. She also displays a gentle, protective side toward Jin Ruiqiu, indulging the young Auspicious Beast’s curiosity and happiness in the human world. 17 23 24

Gu Yuena has little patience for arrogance or coercion. When Ma Xiaotao demands aid while threatening her group, Gu Yuena freezes her and insists that anyone seeking help must show proper humility. 38
