Background / History

Gu Yuan is the revived Dragon God who adopted a human name in order to deal with the Martial Soul Hall remnants and move through the continent without attracting attention. His gentle, handsome human form conceals a divine soul and essence that inspire instinctive awe even in Titled Douluo. 3

Before his fall, he commanded the forces that would later become the hidden Martial Soul Hall faction. After being killed by the Five Great God Kings, his divine soul split into the Golden Dragon King and Silver Dragon King; the former was sealed in the God Realm, while the latter escaped to the Star Dou Forest as Gu Yuena. 4 6

Upon returning, Gu Yuan discovers that the soul beast race has been devastated by human hunting and restrictions imposed by the God Realm. He resolves to restore the race, heal Gu Yuena, break the shackles placed on soul beasts, and eventually challenge the God Realm’s ruling order. 6 10 11

He spends two centuries developing separate foundations for his plans: Qian Renxue and Bibi Dong build Douluo Hall across the continent, while Di Tian and the fierce beasts restore Star Dou Forest. Gu Yuan and Gu Yuena nourish the forest with the laws of creation and destruction, turning it into a place difficult for the God Realm to observe. 15 17 18

When Huo Yuhao enters Star Dou Forest, Gu Yuan initiates the God-Making Plan. Rather than eliminate Tang San’s intended pawn, he arranges for Huo Yuhao to gain the means to escape Tang San’s influence and become a future weapon against the God Realm. 18 19
