In the forest beside a rural town west of the city, a man and a woman stood together.

The woman crouching beside the man in the white shirt wore a burgundy blouse paired with a black skirt that fell past her knees. She seemed distinctly displeased.

The two were Shirou Emiya and Rin Tohsaka, from the Clock Tower of the Mage's Association.

Over a month ago, Lord El-Melloi of the Clock Tower had sensed an abnormality in the ley lines—a sign that the Holy Grail was about to appear.
