The land lay in ruins, the trees on both sides broken and incomplete, with weeds running wild along the edges.

The distant sky was shrouded in thick dust, as though it would never disperse.

Abandoned vehicles lay scattered across the ruined highway, clogging the road as far as the eye could see.

The remains of dead victims could be seen everywhere.
