The rain, which had weakened earlier, now intensified once more.

Rain lashed against the homes in the residential district like blades.

The streetlights had malfunctioned in the storm, flickering on and off along the streets.

The trees by the roadside were bent beneath the fierce wind, seeming on the verge of snapping.

The night was pitch-black. Lightning tore through the darkness, followed by deafening thunder.

Gloom hung over the entire residential district. If someone had been home alone, they would surely have felt afraid and lonely...
