Waver Wakes Up

"Ahhh, I've been shot!"

A young boy's childish cry rang out from inside the room.

Waver jolted awake, staring at the utterly unfamiliar ceiling above him. His thoughts were still stuck on the moment after that gunshot, when the bullet had struck his shoulder.

He immediately reacted, reaching up to feel his shoulder.
