The Choice

Tokiomi Tohsaka immediately sensed something wrong through the contract. His chest tightened as he abruptly looked down at the back of his hand, his expression turning extremely grim.

Upon his fair, delicate skin was the pattern of Command Spells. Yet two of them had already blurred, as though they had been wiped away, leaving only a single stroke engraved there, still gleaming crimson like blood.

But when he followed the connection of that Command Spell, there was no response whatsoever from the contracted being on the other end. The soul that should have been noble and proud could no longer be sensed at all.

The connection was completely empty. There was nothing there.

How could Tokiomi Tohsaka not know what this meant?
