The Beginning

"Mm... huh? I'm..."

Perhaps it was Leon and Mash's conversation, or perhaps Fou's incessant licking, that made the girl lying on the ground open her bleary eyes.

Fou let out a few weak cries and jumped onto Mash, who held him in her arms.

One human and one beast both looked toward the girl as she got to her feet. Confusion flickered in her eyes, as though she had yet to sort out her current situation.

"Um... sleeping on the ground isn't good."

There was almost no emotional fluctuation in Mash's voice.
