The ground beneath their feet shook violently. The tremors surged up from underground and soon reached the royal city above, setting the palace and houses swaying without end.

Fortunately, Leon had used solid materials when building the city. Many of the structures had essentially been carved, hollowed out, and polished from enormous blocks of marble. Miraculously, not a single building in the entire royal city collapsed in this earthquake.

There were almost no casualties.

Agravain felt the ground beneath him suddenly drop away. The royal palace seemed to be descending, and he immediately grabbed a swaying stone pillar to steady himself.
