Ch. 42Resurrection

Leon learned that Lucius might have a weapon borrowed from Atlas Academy and that Morgan had trapped Scathach, Gawain, and Agravain while working to resurrect Vortigern. Morgan successfully summoned Vortigern’s soul into a cultivated body, bound him with magic, and took him underground to serve her.

Ch. 46Merlin's Grand Magecraft

Morgan sacrificed Vortigern to activate the Dragon Heart and awaken the buried Magecraft Circuits, using them to make Britain rise as a gigantic half-human form. Merlin witnessed the transformation and, with Leon occupied fighting an artificial god, prepared to use his ultimate Grand Magecraft and summon Artoria.

  • Morgan led Vortigern into the Spirit Tomb, punished him for calling Leon her enemy, and explained that she planned to use him at the Dragon Heart.
  • Morgan crushed Vortigern beneath the altar’s stone block and used his body and soul to activate the Dragon Heart and channel its power through the buried Circuits.

The Jeweled One predicted that Leon would defeat the Machine God, an artificial god built from Zeus’s loving aspect. Their battle over the continent reached a stalemate, and the Machine God declared that it had the right to judge Leon because it loved humanity.

  • Humans and nonhumans secretly watched the battle and debated whether the Machine God or Leon would win.
  • The Jeweled One told the trumpet’s owner that Leon would prevail, explaining that the Machine God embodied Zeus’s love for humanity.
