Unlike Yamcha, who blushed, fumbled, and lost his composure whenever he saw a girl, he showed none of that flirtatious eagerness to welcome anyone who came along.
His gaze was calm as water, even carrying a hint of cold aloofness that kept others at a distance.
Then, he naturally wrapped an arm around Bulma's waist beside him. Lowering his head to look at her, his eyes instantly softened.
"How does this outfit look? Or did the white one from earlier look better?"
Watching this, the girls immediately understood. Awkwardly putting away their phones, they scurried off with their tails between their legs.
"Hmph, at least you know better."
Seeing those defeated "love rivals," Bulma felt absolutely delighted.
Look at that! This was what a quality boyfriend was like!
Faithful, commanding, and knew how to turn people down!
"This one it is! Put it on the card!" Bulma waved a hand grandly.
After shopping, the two arrived at West City's largest amusement park—Miracle Amusement Park.
It had the world's tallest roller coaster and the most dreamlike carousel.
"Wu Xiu! Let's ride that! That Super Pendulum!" Bulma excitedly pointed at the distant ride that was flinging people around until they screamed their lungs out.
Sun Wuxiu smiled helplessly.
For a Saiyan who could catch Ki blasts barehanded and withstand bullets with his body, such human amusement rides were probably less thrilling than being chased by dinosaurs on Mount Paozu.
But he did not spoil her fun.
Just as he had thought before, training was not merely physical hardship; it was also relaxation for the mind.
The growth of S-Cells required this kind of atmosphere, one filled with laughter and peace.
"Alright, let's go."
The two went through one ride after another, from roller coasters to whitewater rapids. Bulma screamed until her voice was nearly hoarse, clutching Sun Wuxiu's arm tightly and refusing to let go. Sun Wuxiu, meanwhile, remained composed throughout. Whenever Bulma became frightened, he would gently pat the back of her hand to comfort her.
As the sun set.
The amusement park lit up with dazzling neon lights.
They bought two ice creams and sat on a bench to rest.
"Ha... I haven't had this much fun in a long time." Bulma licked her strawberry ice cream, leaned against Sun Wuxiu's shoulder, and looked at the Ferris Wheel in the distance. "Wu Xiu, thank you for spending time with me."
"I'm happy too," Sun Wuxiu said truthfully.
With no pressure of life and death, simply enjoying life like this made the Ki in his body flow much more smoothly. The S-Cells dormant deep within his cells also seemed to be cheering with joy.
Just then.
Sun Wuxiu's gaze suddenly stopped at the fountain plaza not far away.
On a bench there sat a little girl.
She looked to be around ten years old. She had a neat blond bob, wore a slightly ill-fitting denim vest and striped trousers, and had a red scarf around her neck.
Unlike the nearby children clamoring for balloons or crying because they were tired from walking.
This little girl simply sat there quietly, hugging her knees. Her sapphire-blue eyes coldly watched the passing crowd, carrying a ruthlessness and stubbornness far beyond her age.
Though she was still young, her delicate features already showed the makings of a beauty.
"What's wrong? What are you looking at?" Bulma followed Sun Wuxiu's gaze. "Huh? Is that little girl... all alone?"
"I've been watching her for a while." Sun Wuxiu frowned slightly. "She seems to be lost, but she hasn't cried or gone looking for any staff."
"That cool?" Bulma was intrigued. "Come on, let's go take a look."
The two walked over to the bench.
The little girl noticed someone approaching and instantly raised her head like a wary kitten. Her icy blue eyes were filled with vigilance.
"Little sister, why are you here all by yourself?" Bulma bent down and flashed what she considered her warmest smile. "Did you lose your mom and dad?"
The little girl glanced at Bulma, then at the tall Sun Wuxiu beside her. She pressed her lips together and turned her head away.
"No. I'm waiting for someone."
Her voice was clear, but ice-cold.
"Waiting for someone?" Sun Wuxiu smiled and held out the untouched vanilla ice cream in his hand. "You've been waiting a long time, haven't you? Here, this is for you."
The little girl looked at the frosty cone, and her throat moved involuntarily.
The weather was hot, and she really was thirsty.
But she still shook her head. "Mom said I can't eat things from strangers."
"You're pretty wary." Sun Wuxiu did not withdraw his hand. Instead, he sat down at the other end of the bench.
"Don't worry, we aren't bad people. If we were, we would've carried you off already. Why would we bother buying you ice cream?"
Bulma sat down beside them as well and showed off the shopping bags in her hand. "Look, big sis just bought a whole bunch of clothes. What bad guy has the leisure to go shopping?"
The little girl hesitated, but in the end, she could not resist the temptation of the ice cream. She carefully accepted it.
"Thank you." Her voice was soft, but it was no longer quite so cold.
"What's your name?" Bulma quickly pressed on.
The little girl took a bite of the ice cream, and her eyes brightened. She clearly liked the flavor, but when it came to her name, she merely shook her head and refused to say.
"What a cool little kid." Bulma was not angry. Instead, she found the girl rather distinctive.
"Since you're waiting for someone, and we've got nothing else to do, want to play with us for a while?" Sun Wuxiu suggested. "We'll stay nearby. We won't go far."
The little girl glanced at the shooting booth in the distance, and a trace of longing flashed through her eyes.
Sun Wuxiu keenly caught it.
"Come on. Big brother will win you that biggest doll."
In front of the shooting booth.
The owner saw the group of one man and two girls and enthusiastically called out to them.
"Come on over! Sharpshooter Challenge! As long as you hit the bullseye with all ten shots, you can take home that extra-large Panda Doll!"
"I'll give it a try!" Bulma eagerly raised the air rifle.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
Out of ten shots, she hit five, while several missed the target entirely.
"Ugh! There's definitely something wrong with this gun!" Bulma angrily put it down.
"I'll do it."
The blond little girl suddenly spoke.
She set down her empty cone and picked up the air rifle, which was a little heavy for her. Her stance was surprisingly perfect.
She narrowed one eye, and her sapphire-blue pupil instantly locked onto the bullseye.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
The shots rang out in a steady rhythm.
The owner's jaw nearly hit the floor.
All ten bullets struck the bullseye! And every single one hit the exact same spot!
"Th-This..."
"You're amazing!!" Bulma exclaimed. "Little sister, have you practiced before?"
The little girl put down the rifle, lightly flicked her short blond hair, and curled her lips into a faint, slightly proud smile.
"This is easy."
The confidence and cold pride that seemed to come from her very bones left Sun Wuxiu stunned.
Those eyes, that temperament...
Why did she look more and more familiar?
