Annie Hathaway struggled to write in her diary with her right hand:
"I'm very sick and currently hospitalized.
"I used to be someone who was terrified of pain, but in order to stay alive, I endured all the pain of treatment. So please don't casually say that you 'want to die.'"
"Sorry..."
"I'm the one who should apologize. Please forgive my bad tone. Today's bone marrow puncture hurt so much that I'm in a terrible mood..."
A scene surfaced in Lin Yuan's mind:
Annie lay facedown on the hospital bed as a huge needle was viciously driven into her back through the gap between her vertebrae.
The pain was so intense that she could not even cry. She could only clutch the bedsheet tightly, her fists clenched red.
Lin Yuan's eyes reddened slightly as well. Just as he was about to reply, several more lines appeared in the diary:
"I'm struggling to stay alive. I'm still young. I want to go to school, fall in love, and experience all the beautiful things life has to offer.
"Although the doctor told me I may only have half a year left to live, I will never give up until the very last moment."
"You're truly brave! You're the bravest girl I've ever met!" Lin Yuan solemnly wrote in the diary.
"Please don't give up either. Let's work hard together. If one day I'm no longer here, please keep running forward in my place. I hope you can fulfill my dreams for me," Annie wrote.
"Compared to your courage and the pain you've endured, I'm far too weak. For you, I'll pull myself together. I won't give up again!"
"Lin Yuan, I'm so glad I met you."
"Annie, I'm so glad I met you."
As Lin Yuan wrote those words, a thought suddenly
