Background / History
Tang San is a transmigrator whose soul carries the knowledge and techniques of the Tang Sect from his previous life. He regards the sect’s hidden weapons, poisons, and movement techniques as his most closely guarded foundation, following the rule that others must never know the full extent of his strength 23.
At Nuoding Academy, Tang San initially cultivated Blue Silver Grass and gained a ten-year Lone Bamboo soul ring. Its resulting Bind skill was visibly frail, and the white ring became a source of humiliation in his rivalry with Gu Tian 12 16. His attachment to Xiao Wu intensified after she moved in with Gu Tian; Tang San challenged Gu Tian and attempted to assert control over Xiao Wu’s living arrangements, only to be rejected 15.
After being overwhelmed by Gu Tian, Tang San abandoned his focus on Blue Silver Grass and chose to cultivate his second Martial Soul, the Clear Sky Hammer. Yu Xiaogang supported the decision despite previously wanting Tang San to save the hammer’s soul rings for much later cultivation 26. Tang San then acquired a four-hundred-year Man Faced Demon Spider ring for the hammer and registered as an official Soul Master 27 28 31.
His desire to surpass Gu Tian gradually developed into an obsession with revenge, power, and recovering Xiao Wu’s affection. He pursued immortal herbs, negotiated hidden-weapon sales with Prince Xue Xing, and accepted the forbidden Deathsworn Pill after testing it on others 86 134 142 149. The pill elevated his Soul Power to Level 20 and transformed Blue Silver Grass into Blue Silver Thorns 167.
Tang San later established secret laboratories, created Death Warriors through Deathsworn Pills, and experimented on Soul Beasts to produce obedient combatants 166 184. After relocating his operations to avoid exposure, he sought stronger soul rings in the Extreme North and Sunset Forest 173 183. With Titan and the Strength Clan’s support, he formally founded the Tang Sect as a hidden-weapon organization supplying the Heaven Dou Empire 193 194.
Personality
Tang San is determined, calculating, and intensely prideful. Humiliation over his weak first soul ring and repeated defeats by Gu Tian drive much of his cultivation, weapon forging, and political maneuvering 16 26 83.
He is resourceful and strategically minded, capable of recognizing when to relocate a compromised base, conceal evidence, negotiate arms contracts, and seek the Strength Clan’s forging expertise 134 173 193. He also displays a willingness to use people and Soul Beasts as experimental subjects in pursuit of power and control 149 166 184.
His feelings toward Xiao Wu are possessive and increasingly unstable. He interprets her choice to remain with Gu Tian as betrayal, while Xiao Wu openly rejects his advances 15 176.
Abilities & Skills
Twin Martial Souls
Tang San possesses Blue Silver Grass and the Clear Sky Hammer, a rare Twin Martial Soul combination revealed publicly at Shrek Academy 22 102.
- Blue Silver Grass / Blue Silver Thorns — Initially weakened by a ten-year Lone Bamboo ring; later mutated through the Deathsworn Pill into tougher, more toxic Blue Silver Thorns 12 167 168.
- Clear Sky Hammer — His second Martial Soul, characterized by a heavy, oppressive presence and used as his principal offensive weapon 22 27.
- Tang San can employ both Martial Souls in cross-level combat 83.
Mysterious Heaven Skill
A Tang Sect internal-energy cultivation art from the Mysterious Heaven Treasure Record 12.
- Supports Tang San’s Soul Power cultivation and physical endurance.
- Allowed him to refine and withstand the Deathsworn Pill’s destructive medicinal energy 167.

Hidden Weapons
Tang San personally forges and deploys concealed mechanical weapons, treating their construction methods as closely held secrets 26 194.
- Silent Sleeve Arrow — Used against the Man Faced Demon Spider, though it failed to penetrate the creature’s defenses 27.

- Hidden Sand Shooting Shadow — Auctioned alongside the Godly Zhuge Crossbow and delivered to Prince Xue Xing 132 141.
- His hidden weapons enabled him to build a business relationship with the Heaven Dou royal family 134.
Soul Skills
- Bind — Blue Silver Grass’s first soul skill, gained from the ten-year Lone Bamboo ring. Produces sparse vines that wrap around targets, but initially lacked durability 12.
- Blue Silver Pole Vault — Blue Silver Thorns’ second soul skill, gained from an eight-hundred-year Lone Bamboo. Forms a hard, barbed, elastic pole for rapid mobility, evasive movement, and traversing complex terrain 192.
Deathsworn Pill
A forbidden medicine provided through Prince Xue Xing that rapidly improves Soul Power and purifies or alters Martial Souls 142 167.
- Raised Tang San directly to the Level 20 bottleneck 167.
- Mutated Blue Silver Grass into Blue Silver Thorns, increasing its defensive qualities and neurotoxin potency 167 168.
- Its energy carries a destructive, murderous influence; Tang San expelled corrosive dark breath after refining it 167.
- Tang San used the pill to create obedient Death Warriors from Bu Le, Tian Ya, and E Kao 166.
- He later tested it on Soul Beasts to produce controlled killing machines 184.

Story Role / Major Arcs
Nuoding Academy and the Lone Bamboo Ring

Rivalry with Gu Tian
Upon returning to Nuoding Academy, Tang San finds Xiao Wu living with Gu Tian and challenges Gu Tian over her. His jealousy escalates through confrontations, failed schemes, and defeats, including his unsuccessful attempt to trip Gu Tian 15 23 80.
Clear Sky Hammer Cultivation
Following his humiliation, Tang San devotes himself to the Clear Sky Hammer, blacksmithing, and hidden-weapon construction. He obtains a four-hundred-year Man Faced Demon Spider ring for the hammer, advances to Level 12, and registers as an official Soul Master 26 28 31.
Shrek and Hidden-Weapon Enterprise
At Shrek Academy, Tang San reveals his Twin Martial Souls and challenges Gu Tian in the Great Soul Arena, apparently defeating him with the Godly Zhuge Crossbow and Disorder Splitting Wind Hammer Technique 83 102. He subsequently auctions hidden weapons and enters an arms arrangement with Prince Xue Xing 132 134.
Death Warrior Project
Tang San accepts the Deathsworn Pill, recruits Bu Le’s group, and builds a secret organization around obedient enhanced fighters. He personally takes the pill, reaches Soul Grandmaster, and develops Blue Silver Thorns 149 166 167.
Extreme North and Second Soul Ring
After his secret base risks exposure, Tang San leads his allies away from Heaven Dou City to hunt for second rings. He reaches Level 23 after absorbing an Ice Bear ring, then later gives Blue Silver Thorns an eight-hundred-year Lone Bamboo ring and gains Blue Silver Pole Vault 173 183 192.
Establishment of the Tang Sect
Tang San recruits the Strength Clan as the Tang Sect’s foundation, with Titan converting the clan into the Tang Sect’s Strength Hall. Tang San stays at their compound to train fifty elite smiths in hidden-weapon construction for the Heaven Dou Empire’s military commission 193 194.
Trivia

- His first Blue Silver Grass ring and later second Blue Silver Thorns ring both originate from Lone Bamboo Soul Beasts, but their quality differs sharply: ten years versus eight hundred years 11 192.
- Tang San’s first Clear Sky Hammer ring came from a Man Faced Demon Spider approximately four hundred years old 27 28.
