- Armed forces — The empire maintains an Imperial Guard, border armies and an Assault Battalion. Ye Yunxi offers Yang Wudi the position of chief instructor for the battalion; he later serves as a senior general on the border 33 62 162.
- Royal academy — Heaven Dou Royal Academy represents the empire in the Continental Advanced Soul Master Academy Elite Tournament. Emperor Xue Ye offers titles, fiefdoms and Gold Soul Coins for strong results 18.
- Four Great Clans — The Strength, Breaking, Speed and Defense Clans sign the Four-Direction Alliance Seal with the crown prince's household. Under the agreement, the empire provides resources, a base and official status without interfering in the clans' internal affairs 63.
History
Border crisis and tournament
A soul beast tide led by Xiong Jun and Scarlet King approaches the empire's border, where soldiers build successive defensive lines. Ye Yunxi goes to investigate; afterward, frontline soldiers and soul masters credit her with saving the empire from the threat 71 82.
At the tournament finals, Heaven Dou Royal Academy reaches the final four alongside Shrek Academy, Martial Soul Hall Academy and Godwind Academy. The royal academy subsequently loses to Martial Soul Hall Academy 88 89.
Succession and Ye Yunxi's regency
Emperor Xue Ye abdicates in favor of Crown Prince Xue Qinghe—the identity assumed by Qian Renxue. At the enthronement ceremony in Heaven Dou City, Qian Renxue takes the throne and Ye Yunxi is crowned empress. Ye Yunxi publicly pledges to help protect the empire and its people 166.
Gu Yuena abducts Ye Yunxi during the ceremony. Imperial officials and allied sect members gather to plan a rescue, but judge that the empire's forces alone cannot safely confront Gu Yuena and Di Tian. Qian Renxue secures help from Spirit Hall's worshippers, and a combined force travels to the Star Dou Great Forest 167 168 170.
When Qian Renxue later leaves for Spirit City and the Angel God Trial, she temporarily entrusts imperial authority to Ye Yunxi. She hands over the imperial jade seal and a tiger tally for mobilizing the border armies. With Ah Yin assisting her, Ye Yunxi takes charge of court business and wins the officials' acceptance during her first morning session 177.
