Background / History

Sacrifice and Confinement

Ah Yin was a hundred-thousand-year Blue Silver Emperor who took human form, fell in love with Tang Hao, and became Tang San’s mother. After Martial Soul Hall hunted her, she sacrificed herself to save Tang Hao, leaving a remnant soul within her Blue Silver Grass body 134.

Tang Hao placed her behind a waterfall near Holy Soul Village, inside a sealed, dark cave. For more than a decade, she remained conscious but unable to recover properly. She continued hoping for her husband and son and guarded the hundred-thousand-year Blue Silver Emperor Right Leg Bone intended for them 133 134 152.

Restoration by Ye Yunxi

Ye Yunxi entered the cave with Snow Empress and Ice Empress. Ah Yin initially resisted the removal of her soul bone, binding Ye Yunxi’s wrist with vines. Snow Empress then helped her manifest a temporary soul form 133.

Ye Yunxi challenged Ah Yin’s faith in Tang Hao, describing his drunken decline, infrequent visits, and failure to bring her to the Blue Silver Forest, where the Blue Silver King could aid her recovery. Learning that Tang Hao had also suffered severe injuries after using Ring Detonation shattered her remaining hope of rescue. Ye Yunxi offered restoration on the condition that she stop depending on Tang Hao and Tang San 134.

Ah Yin accepted. The reshaping liquid restored her body and full cultivation, and she pledged her life to Ye Yunxi. She followed her to the Crown Prince’s Mansion and began addressing her as “Lady Ye” 134 135.

Break with Tang Hao

Tang Hao later discovered that both Ah Yin and her soul bone were missing from the waterfall site. Their reunion occurred at Moonlight Pavilion, where Ye Yunxi arrived holding Ah Yin’s hand 145 151.

Ah Yin rejected Tang Hao’s demand that she return, citing her years of confinement and his failure to help her recover. She declared herself a member of the Ye Clan and expressed affection for Ye Yunxi. When Tang Hao invoked Tang San to persuade her, she also denied her connection to their son 151 152.

Service and Travels

At the Crown Prince’s Mansion, Ah Yin helped Bi Ji and Di Qiu’er learn to cook and prepared meals for Ye Yunxi’s household. She later recounted her sacrifice, confinement, and restoration to Tai Tan, Bai He, and Niu Gao, strongly emphasizing Ye Yunxi’s kindness 149 150 165.

After being told to return to the Star Dou Great Forest, Ah Yin instead returned to the Heaven Dou Imperial Palace. She explained that she could not bear to leave Ye Yunxi and felt safe only at her side. Ye Yunxi allowed her to remain as an attendant handling miscellaneous duties 176.

Ah Yin accompanied Ye Yunxi on the journey toward Sea God Island, helping maintain the Dragon Abyss Boat and organize its documents. During a private conversation, she told Tang San that she had willingly chosen her new life and would not return to Tang Hao. Tang San ultimately accepted her decision 181 184 185.

She continued accompanying Ye Yunxi between Sea God Island and the Heaven Dou Empire. After spending a year on the island, she returned to the palace and eagerly went to pick flowers in the imperial garden 196 197 216.

Personality

Ah Yin’s original devotion is deeply self-sacrificing: even after years of confinement, she protects the soul bone left for Tang Hao and Tang San. Her eventual rejection of Tang Hao follows grief over his neglect and the collapse of her hope that he will restore her 133 134.

With Ye Yunxi, she is respectful, attentive, and often bashful. Her gratitude develops into persistent romantic attraction, including a wish to bear Ye Yunxi’s child. Although Ye Yunxi declines her advances, Ah Yin gradually becomes bolder in expressing affection 135 151 164 165 214.

Her firmness toward her former family does not entirely erase her sensitivity. After refusing Tang San’s request to return, she privately asks Ye Yunxi whether she was too harsh 184 185.
