Background

Ji Feng was expelled from Notting Academy after Yu Xiaogang accused him of bullying Tang San and Xiao Wu. With little influence at the academy despite his family’s comfortable middle-class background, Ji Feng left Nuoding City to seek another path. 1 2

During his departure, he awakened the Hou Yi hero template and its associated system. The template transformed his common Snake Martial Soul into the Super Martial Soul Hou Yi, but imposed an apparent restriction of only four total soul rings. 2

Ji Feng’s early growth was defined by hunting soul beasts for system-granted soul power. He secured his first ring by killing the Datura Snake that Tang San and Yu Xiaogang had been fighting, beginning a lasting hostility with both master and disciple. 3 4

Appearance

Ji Feng is commonly seen carrying or manifesting a recurve bow associated with his Hou Yi Martial Soul. He also uses disguises to conceal his identity during auctions and Soul Arena matches. 4 9 17 19

Ji Feng is calculating and strongly focused on rapid self-improvement. He repeatedly prioritizes hunting, equipment crafting, and gathering resources over formal training or institutional loyalty. When expelled from the Imperial Fighting Team, he accepts the decision calmly and immediately redirects his attention toward further growth. 8 9 10

He is also opportunistic in combat. Ji Feng tracked Tang San and Yu Xiaogang, waited for their battle with the Datura Snake to create an opening, and claimed the spirit ring for himself. He later used Smite to take Tang San’s Man Faced Demon Spider ring while concealing his identity. 3 13

Despite his composure under pressure, Ji Feng can be vindictive and cruel toward enemies. Following his conflicts with Yu Tianheng and Dugu Yan, he abducted Dugu Yan from her wedding and explicitly intended to torment her in retaliation. 43

Conflict with Tang San and the Soul Arena

Ji Feng steals Tang San’s Man Faced Demon Spider ring using Smite. Later, under the masked identity Ghost, he leads four Three-Beast Wind Demon Hounds to twenty consecutive Soul Arena victories and Gold Soul rank before his identity is exposed during a battle against Shrek. 13 19 20

Tang Hao’s Ambush and Forest Training

Tang Hao captures Ji Feng and leaves him for Tang San’s attempted execution. Ye Lingling saves Ji Feng from the Dragon Whisker Needles with Hexagram of Peace: Longevity, and the pair escape by teleportation. Ji Feng subsequently trains in dangerous forest regions, reaches Soul Emperor, and gains a hundred-thousand-year soul ring. 26 27 28

Heaven Dou and the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan

Ji Feng gains Xue Qinghe’s interest, returns to Heaven Dou, and defeats Yu Tianheng in their public duel. He then infiltrates the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan, forces its members to kneel, and steals the True Dragon Nine Crowns from Yu Yuanzhen. 29 36 39 40
