History

Tang San first appears at Notting Academy as a work-study student. He protects Xiao Wu during Ji Feng's provocation and defeats Ji Feng before leaving for the second floor of the cafeteria. Yu Xiaogang subsequently confronts Ji Feng over bullying Tang San and Xiao Wu. 1

Under Yu Xiaogang's guidance, Tang San begins learning the fundamentals of Douluo Continent martial souls and hunts for a suitable first soul ring. In the Soul Hunting Forest, he uses Tang Sect techniques to hold his own against a 422-year-old Datura Snake. Ji Feng kills the beast at the decisive moment and absorbs its ring, leaving Tang San enraged and determined to surpass him. 2 3 4

Tang San later enters Shrek Academy. He encounters Ji Feng again near the Count's private mine, but Ji Feng ignores his challenge; Tang San considers himself stronger after reaching Level 30. 8

While separated from the Shrek team in the Star Dou Great Forest, Tang San battles a 2,000-year-old Man Faced Demon Spider with his Clear Sky Hammer. Ji Feng appears in disguise, uses Smite to take the spider's spirit ring, and escapes. The Dragon Duke and Snake Matriarch then mistake Tang San for the thief and capture him, intensifying his hatred of Ji Feng. 13

Tang San recognizes Ji Feng as the black-robed thief in Suotuo City and vows revenge. His humiliation deepens when he is initially denied entry to an auction for lacking the fee while Ji Feng enters as Ning Fengzhi's guest; Tang San's Silent Sleeve Arrow later sells for 10,000 Gold Soul Coins, far below the prices reached by Ji Feng's attribute Soul Tools. 16 17 18

As part of the Shrek Seven Devils, Tang San faces Ji Feng's disguised Ghost Team at the Suotuo Great Soul Arena. He uses Blue Silver Grass to restrain Ji Feng, but Ji Feng breaks through his control. Tang San tears away Ghost's mask, exposing Ji Feng's identity, then loses their direct confrontation and recognizes the extent of the power gap between them. 19 20 21

Tang Hao later captures Ji Feng and leaves him for Tang San to handle. Tang San proposes a wager while intending to kill Ji Feng with poisoned Dragon Whisker Needles; Ye Lingling heals Ji Feng and enables his escape.
