Chapter Summaries

Gaisreisen and the Four Divine Beast Family’s clan leaders confronted the likelihood that the Four Divine Beasts had fallen and planned how to protect their family. As they began carrying out their preparations, Elder Bru arrived with news that an honored guest had come to visit.

• Gaisreisen told the clan leaders that Madlin and his entire branch had been killed, while the Vermillion Bird Clan Leader revealed that her mother had not answered her Main God Magic Scroll.
• Gaisreisen ordered the family to gather its clansmen in Hell, tell them the truth, and secretly send some Saint Domain clansmen to safe Material Planes to preserve the family’s bloodline.
• Gaisreisen assigned Gaia and the others to resume practicing their combined technique, retrieve the family’s Sovereign’s Might, and seek additional Sovereign’s Might from Sovereign’s Castle.
• Gaisreisen told Gaia to visit the Water God Plane, bring back Puen and the others, and contact Azure Dragon Army commander Kevis about the Sovereign’s Might there.
• Elder Bru hurried into Azure Dragon Hall and announced that an honored guest had arrived.

Keshrolao visited the Four Divine Beast Family after hearing that its Overgod fathers had fallen, and he questioned Gaisreisen about the pillars and the circumstances of their departure. He learned that Ailin and the Light Sovereign were involved, then claimed he had come partly to fulfill an agreement with the fallen Overgods, leaving the family hoping he would help them.

• Bru told Gaisreisen and the other clan leaders that Keshrolao had arrived at the Four Divine Beast Family’s Guest Hall.
• Keshrolao examined the carvings on the twelve pillars and advised Gaisreisen to preserve them.

Keshrolao revealed that he had come under an old agreement to guide Ges’s cultivation and settled at the White Tiger residence. Meanwhile, the City Lord’s steward asked the Four Divine Beast Family to trade away its Innate Divine Ability-awakening treasures, and Gaisreisen’s furious refusal left him resolved to protect the family’s honor.

• Keshrolao said an Overgod had asked him to guide Ges’s cultivation, and he agreed to stay at the White Tiger residence for a time.
• Gaisreisen and the other Clan Leaders decided to prepare for Keshrolao’s arrival while remaining cautious about his motives.
• Ende arrived from the City Lord’s Mansion and said the Prefect wanted to exchange for the family’s Innate Divine Ability-awakening items.
• Gaisreisen refused, and the White Tiger and Black Tortoise Clan Leaders angrily ordered Ende to leave.

Beirut approached Reynars to recruit him into a coalition against the Four Divine Beast Family, intending to pressure the family without destroying it. Reynars agreed to fight if Beirut could gather enough allies, and Beirut planned to contact powerful families from other planes.

• After Ende reported his meeting with Gaisreisen, Beirut decided to pressure the Four Divine Beast Family and traveled to Cloudy Peak Mansion to meet Reynars.

On Yulan Continent, he selected candidates for an experiment, and a rebel leader sacrificed himself to save his three brothers as soldiers closed in.

Kruuf drew Gruu and the soldiers away from his three unconscious brothers, hoping to give them time to escape, but Gruu’s forces overwhelmed him. Beirut appeared, killed Gruu and his men, healed Kruuf, and took him to the battle where his brothers had been discovered.

• The burly general recognized Kruuf’s flight as a diversion and sent Yasef back to search for Kruuf’s brothers.
• Kruuf lured the pursuing soldiers away from his brothers until Gruu arrived and surrounded him.
• Kruuf refused to reveal his brothers’ whereabouts, and Gruu ordered the soldiers to shoot him.
• As Gruu moved in to kill the nearly defeated Kruuf, Beirut immobilized and killed Gruu and the surrounding soldiers.
• Beirut healed Kruuf and took him to the distant battle, where Kruuf saw that his brothers had been discovered and were fighting the enemy.

Beirut gave Kruuf, Lanka, Kazwen, and Gale a dangerous chance to absorb the Blood Essence of the Four Divine Beasts. After they endured the agony and transformed, the energy began healing and strengthening them, leaving Beirut surprised that the experiment had succeeded.

• Beirut brought the four survivors to his castle and offered them an opportunity with a death rate above ninety percent.
• Kruuf, Lanka, Kazwen, and Gale accepted the risk and entered four separate areas prepared with Magic Arrays.
• Beirut sent Azure Dragon, White Tiger, Vermilion Bird, and Black Tortoise Blood Essence into their respective arrays and warned them to stay conscious.
