A Clash

It wasn't often that Sun Yu ran into Dr. Briefs, so he took the chance to ask about the Gravity Training Room.

"Dr. Briefs, have you finished the Gravity Training Room I asked you to build?"

Briefs shook his head solemnly. "No. There's still one crucial technical problem I haven't solved!"

Hearing that, Sun Yu froze for a moment, then his mouth twitched. He asked tentatively, "Doctor, don't tell me the technical problem you mean is where to put the speakers!"

"My goodness, Mr. Sun Yu! You really can see everything coming!" Dr. Briefs looked at Sun Yu with fervent admiration and said reverently, "As expected of Mr. Sun Yu. You truly have an unparalleled love of life and music..."

Love of life and music, my ass! Sun Yu's face darkened. He hadn't predicted anything. In the Dragon Ball anime, when Briefs built the Gravity Training Room for Son Goku, he'd spent nearly half his time agonizing over the speakers. Was that really so important? Who would train under a hundred times Earth's gravity while blasting Little Apple by the Chopstick Brothers?

This was clearly just looking for trouble... Wait, no, actually, it did sound pretty good!

Just imagine Sun Yu sweating buckets as he did push-ups and sit-ups in the hundred-times-gravity training room, while the surround-sound system played that brainwashing hit, the essential soundtrack for square dancing: Little Apple.

"You are my little apple... I could never love you enough..."

The scariest part was that the beats would even match!

Oh! That image was too beautiful. He couldn't bear to look!

Just as Sun Yu's imagination was running wild, the pilot suddenly reported, "Boss, an unidentified object is rapidly approaching from behind us. Awaiting your orders!"

An unidentified object was rapidly approaching? Sun Yu quietly sensed for it, but couldn't feel the slightest trace of energy. It obviously couldn't be Lana; he could recognize her ki easily. So he asked the pilot, "Is it a plane?"

"It's not a plane, Mr. Sun. It's small, and it doesn't look like an aircraft..." the pilot replied respectfully.

"Dr. Briefs, Bulma, I'm going out to take a look. Stay back for now," Sun Yu said.

"Okay, Mr. Sun Yu (Big Brother Sun Yu). Be careful."

Sun Yu opened the hatch and flew out, then stood still and watched the dark shape speeding toward him in the distance.

Here it comes!

Although he couldn't sense the slightest fighting power from the person approaching, Sun Yu felt a faint pressure. Martial artists trained their senses, giving them an exceptionally sharp instinct for danger. Clearly, this person meant trouble!

The man reached Sun Yu in an instant. His greedy eyes stayed fixed on Sun Yu for a long time before he said excitedly, "It's you! It was you! Haha... You're the one who set me free! To repay you for freeing me, let me kill you!"

"Hey, who are you?" Sun Yu asked, momentarily at a loss.

"Remember this: the one who kills you is Knight!"

Before Sun Yu could react, Knight vanished from where he stood with a whoosh. Sun Yu immediately went on high alert, activating his Sharingan to sense every movement around him.

Then Sun Yu caught sight of Knight's position. He sneered and threw a punch.

"Bang!"

Sun Yu's fist struck Knight, but Knight seemed completely unharmed. Sun Yu's knuckles went numb, as if he'd punched a superalloy steel plate!

"Heh, I didn't expect you not to be human!" Sun Yu excitedly rubbed his fist, then put aside his underestimation and said, "If I'm not mistaken, you're an android... Heh, no wonder I couldn't sense your energy. So that's it!"

Android Knight, Android 9!

"Congratulations, you got it right. Too bad there's no prize." A cold glint flashed in Android 9's eyes, and he shifted position again, launching another attack on Sun Yu.

"Interesting!" Sun Yu stopped holding back. He shouted as energy surged through his body and his fighting power skyrocketed, making the air whistle around him.

Sun Yu and Android 9 battled in the sky, trading punch after punch. Since Android 9's body was made of superalloy, Sun Yu could only defend himself most of the time. Before long, he was covered in wounds. Each one stoked his fighting spirit, making him more and more excited.

Sun Yu went all out from the very start, unleashing his full eight thousand in fighting power. Even so, he felt he still wasn't a match for the android. Based on his estimate, Android 9's fighting power was around twice his own!

"Haha, I didn't expect this android to be so strong. There's quite a gap between us. This is fun!"

As a Saiyan, a member of a warrior race, Sun Yu felt no fear when facing an opponent stronger than himself. He felt only an intense desire to fight. Saiyans craved battle and longed to fight the strong.

With a thunderous bang, half of the android's head caved in. The force of Sun Yu's blow sent him flying into the sky. Sun Yu didn't pause for even a moment. In the last instant of Time Stasis, he unleashed an astonishing aura, raised both hands, and chanted:

"Ka... me... ha... me, ha!"

A quickly charged Kamehameha shot out, its blue-white orb trailing a long tail as it hurtled toward the airborne Android 9, who had no time to react.

"Haha, I did it!" Sun Yu grinned. His quickly charged Kamehameha had around twice his fighting power. At such close range, even an android would be blasted to pieces.

But Sun Yu's smile didn't last long. Just as his Kamehameha struck Android 9, the android suddenly spread his hands and faced the attack. The Kamehameha, which should have blasted him to dust, abruptly faltered and shrank at a rapid pace, then vanished, leaving behind only a wisp of smoke.

"This..." Sun Yu's mouth twitched. He suddenly remembered that in the original Dragon Ball story, Dr. Gero had researched androids capable of absorbing energy. It seemed Android 9 was one of them!

"Hahaha... Such pure energy! Thank you so much. You've given me so much more energy. I'm almost starting to feel bad about killing you!"

Android 9 stared fixedly at Sun Yu, making his scalp prickle. Not only had Sun Yu failed to hurt the android—he'd actually helped make him stronger. This was bad!
