Puyi heard Sun Yu ask about the Rep Squad and looked as if a weight had been lifted from his shoulders. He immediately gave Sun Yu a detailed introduction to the squad.
"Sir, our squad has more than thirty members in total, but only a dozen or so are core members. All of them have a battle power above ... As for the non-core members..."
When he got to the non-core members, Puyi smiled awkwardly at Sun Yu. Sun Yu didn't need him to explain what those so-called non-core members were like. Just a moment ago, while Lelton was still alive, he had tried to recruit Sun Yu as a non-core member.
Sun Yu waved a hand, signaling Puyi to continue.
"Sir, as for loyalty, only Lelton advocated serving Frieza. You know he was the captain before. We only follow the strong..."
Puyi's answer was very clever. He blamed a dead man for the Rep Squad's work for Frieza, then declared that he had only followed the captain's orders and that they were loyal only to the strong. And who was the strongest now? Sun Yu, naturally.
Sun Yu then asked for more details about the squad members, and Puyi answered every question without holding anything back.
"Kael, you're not really going to take in this Rep Squad, are you?" Uncle Oli grew anxious as he watched Sun Yu and Puyi get along better and better. He worried Sun Yu was too inexperienced and might be deceived by a scoundrel.
"Why shouldn't I?" Sun Yu smiled at Uncle Oli. Since Puyi was addressing him as "Sir," the other Rep Squad members present wouldn't dare lay a hand on Oli or Hill.
"But, Kael, this man..." Uncle Oli clearly wasn't comfortable with Sun Yu dealing with someone like Puyi. He wanted to keep persuading Sun Yu to abandon the idea.
Puyi wasn't about to let Oli keep talking him out of it. He hurried over to Uncle Oli with a fawning smile. "Brother Oli, I was terribly rude to you just now. We're all on the same side now..."
Before Puyi could finish, Sun Yu clapped a hand on his shoulder and said sternly, "I agreed to take in the Rep Squad, but I don't remember ever saying I'd spare you!"
Crack...
The sound of a bone snapping rang out. Puyi hadn't even realized what was happening before he crumpled to the ground. The squad members, who had just thought they'd escaped unscathed, stared at Sun Yu in terror. It wasn't that they didn't want to fight back; Sun Yu's overwhelming strength had robbed them of the will to resist.
Uncle Oli broke into a cold sweat at the sight. Sun Yu's sudden attack had taken him completely by surprise. He realized he could no longer read Sun Yu at all. The boy was young and always wore a warm, harmless smile, yet he was so ruthless and decisive!
"Should I kill the rest of them, Uncle Oli?" Sun Yu looked at Oli and flashed what he thought was a sunny smile.
Saiyans were naturally bloodthirsty, but that usually came from getting carried away in the heat of battle. And not all Saiyans were cruel; Uncle Oli was clearly one of the exceptions.
"Let them go. From what Puyi told us, the real culprit has already been dealt with. These people were only following Lelton's orders!"
Seeing that Uncle Oli had no intention of pursuing the matter, Sun Yu nodded and let the killing intent fade. He addressed the others. "You heard him? You can live—for now. From this moment on, I'm taking over your Rep Squad. The squad will need a new name, but we can deal with that later. For now, I order you to restore Uncle Oli's living room to its original state at once. Otherwise..."
Sun Yu's gaze turned cold. The group immediately dropped to their knees and swore their loyalty.
"What's your name?" Sun Yu pointed to a younger squad member. From what he'd learned earlier, this man was a non-core member and had only come along to help out today.
As soon as he heard Sun Yu ask his name, the man answered respectfully. "Sir, my name is Alanks. I'm a non-core member..."
Before Alanks could finish, Sun Yu cut him off. "Your name is Alanks, right? I don't care about your current battle power, and I don't care who's core or non-core. What I need is your loyalty. You'll keep an eye on these men and report anything unusual to me at once. Once the place is cleaned up, gather all the Rep Squad members and bring them here for a meeting. Don't force anyone who doesn't want to come; just cross their names off the roster. Understood?"
"Yes, I understand, Sir!" A glint appeared in Alanks's eyes. He had been pushed aside because his battle power was low, and now Sun Yu had entrusted him with an important task. A sudden urge to lay down his life for someone who understood his worth welled up inside him.
"Uncle Oli, Aunt Hill, let's go upstairs and talk," Sun Yu said after settling things with the Rep Squad. He invited Oli and Hill upstairs, and Lana followed them.
The four of them went up the broad staircase together. Lana quietly moved behind Sun Yu and pinched him hard on the back. The pain nearly brought tears to Sun Yu's eyes.
"Lana, why'd you pinch me?" Sun Yu rubbed his swollen back and asked with a mournful look.
"My hand was itchy. What, you don't like it?" Lana blinked her adorable big eyes and looked at Sun Yu innocently.
Oli and Hill were still caught up in what had happened earlier. Seeing the two of them laughing and playfully bickering, they finally relaxed and exchanged a smile.
Once they were in the couple's room, Aunt Hill came up to Sun Yu and looked him over. "Are you really my Kael?"
"The real deal!" Sun Yu quickly thumped his chest, swearing he was telling the truth.
"Kael..." Uncle Oli hesitated, then steeled himself and asked, "Kael, if I'm not mistaken, your battle power is well above 1,200, isn't it? Would you mind telling us your and Lana's true battle power?"
After what had just happened, even a fool could tell Sun Yu's battle power was higher than 1,200. But Uncle Oli didn't rush to take out the Scouter. Lelton and the others had already tried one, and it hadn't worked. His Scouter wouldn't be any different.
"Mm." Sun Yu exchanged a glance with Lana. He didn't intend to hide the truth from the two who had raised him, so he told them their real battle power. "Lana and I are both at ... hundred thousand right now. That's right, you heard me correctly: ... hundred thousand!"
"Three... three hundred thousand!"
Uncle Oli and Aunt Hill stared in shock. If the earlier events had still been within the bounds of what they could accept, this news was like a bolt from the blue. A battle power of 300,000—were they even Saiyans anymore?
"Then... why can't the Scouter detect your strength?"
It took Uncle Oli and Aunt Hill quite a while to recover from their shock. Then they finally asked what had been bothering them.
Sun Yu smiled faintly and explained, "Because we've learned how to control our ki, so the Scouter can't detect us. And with proper training, you can learn it too!"
