Li looked at the door before him. The shield that had once jammed it shut had long since crumbled away with age, and when the heavy door slammed closed, it had even triggered the rolling-boulder mechanism...
After testing it, Li confirmed that the door truly could not be opened from the inside. He gestured to the two women, telling them not to move recklessly, then abruptly pressed himself against the wall. His formidable physical abilities came into play once more as he actually climbed straight up the wall.
His entire body slowly adhered to the ceiling. Li's expression was grim as he reached out and lightly tapped the ceiling, as though searching for a hidden chamber. Yet with every tap, he frowned and gently shook his head. After a while, he lightly dropped back down. His brows remained tightly furrowed; in truth, he was calculating the exact location of the mechanism.
When they had faced the rolling boulder earlier, it had already been fully in motion, so he had not seen how it had descended in the first place. That made it impossible to determine the precise location of the trigger.
Li glanced at the ceiling again, this time with a hint of confidence on his face. He said softly, "All right, I've found—" Before he could finish, a deafening bang rang out. Li froze for a moment. "What kind of monster is that?"
At that moment, he sensed that the Gaia Giant Serpent had actually climbed back up. Thinking of how it had fallen into the lava just moments ago, just how powerful were this thing's recovery and environmental adaptability?!
Li sighed in frustration and said to Timaria, "You two stand against the side and don't move an inch. Otherwise, I can't guarantee your safety!"
As he spoke, Li
