That was right. If what Hinata said was accurate, then there should have been some kind of light source inside that cave, right? That was also a characteristic of the Byakugan. While it could see through most objects—
At the same time, however, it could not directly observe things affected by light.
Hinata could clearly see the details within the underground cave, but once a light source appeared inside it, she could no longer make out what was actually there. It had to be said that this was one of the Byakugan's shortcomings.
Li nodded softly. "Then let's go down."
Before long, everyone followed Hinata's directions and entered the cave. There was nothing particularly strange about it, at least not as they made their way down. It only felt excessively damp inside.
Li lightly rubbed his nose. Just excessively damp?
He gently shook his head. It should be more than that. He could sense faint traces of chakra continuously radiating from below the cave. There should be something hidden down there, shouldn't there?
The group proceeded deeper into the cave. After passing through a long tunnel, they arrived at a broad area resembling a hall. Li surveyed the surroundings, though his first glance went straight to the ceiling. After all, if someone wanted to ambush them here, they would definitely attack from above.
As Li looked up, Shikamaru did the same. There was no ambush, though. Numerous stone spikes grew from the ceiling of the hall. They were enormous and sharp-looking, but they were still only ordinary rocks. At the exact center of the ceiling, however, was a smooth, flat section.
A large character had been painted there. Shikamaru frowned. "A-Un. In ancient times, it meant origin. In other words, is this place the starting point?"
Li looked down again.
