Matatabi's movement just happened to slip her head out from beneath Li's palm. Then, with lightning speed, she viciously bit down on his wrist before stomping hard against the ground and rapidly retreating into the darkness behind her.
"Naruto, are you okay?!" Shikamaru rushed over, his face pale.
Li's expression was livid. He had not expected that he would still let his guard down in the end. Just now, he had completely thought of the other party as a cat, forgetting that she was formed from condensed chakra and that her body could naturally undergo alterations at will.
That was how she had managed to bite him. He raised his hand and looked at his wrist. There were two holes as thick as fingers there—clearly Matatabi's handiwork. Though there were no obvious signs of poisoning, such as black blood seeping out, Li could feel an incomparably sinister chakra rapidly coursing through his body. It seemed that Matatabi had transmitted a portion of the Two-Tails' chakra into his body through that bite.

But Naruto's body had once withstood the power of all nine Tailed Beasts and had even received the Sage of Six Paths' inheritance, so it naturally would not collapse immediately.

That was right—the Tailed Beasts had been willing to give Naruto their chakra. But the chakra Li was facing now was malicious chakra hurled at him by an enemy.
