Li nodded when he heard this. "You don't need to say any more."
Asura's eyes widened. "You know what I wanted to say?"
Li gave a grunt and slowly narrowed his eyes. This Asura was not as hopeless as he had imagined. He could probably guess what the guy wanted to do.
As the Sage of Six Paths' son, perhaps you could be utterly mediocre, but having someone to compare yourself to made life difficult—especially when that person was a genius. The reason Asura mentioned that his mother had died because of him was not because he truly felt that he had killed her. He wanted to say that he was not worth her dying for.
If Asura's talent had truly been on par with Indra's, then his guilt toward his mother would have been much less. But in truth, Asura was trash—genuine trash. Of course, that was only when judging him as the Sage of Six Paths' son.
Compared to an ordinary person, though, Asura was not completely worthless.
In fact, Asura's physical constitution was excellent. He was highly suited to training in senjutsu, meaning he was better suited for cultivating natural energy. Actually, among the seven major chakra natures—fire, water, wind, lightning, earth, Yin, and Yang—the ones inclined toward natural energy were water and wind.
The other five natures leaned toward Yin and Yang. That was precisely why, even if Asura was willing to train, he would not make much progress in mastering those five natures.
Li looked Asura over once more before finally sighing. "No helping it. Since you want to learn, I'll teach you. But you need to understand that you absolutely cannot mention what I teach you to anyone, nor can you teach it to anyone else. Understand?"
Asura nodded excitedly. "Okay, okay, okay..."
"Fine.
