Itachi was both shocked and furious, but he understood that he absolutely could not confront the person before him head-on. His feet swiftly shifted as his hands formed seals. "Fire Release: Great Fireball Technique!"
The enormous fireball engulfed that person in an instant, but Itachi knew that such an attack could not possibly hurt her. Then he cursed himself for being such an idiot. Wouldn't an attack with such a wide range instead give the enemy space to hide?
Sure enough, in the next moment, a streak of black light shot straight out from the flames.
Before Itachi could even react, he saw the massive sword swing toward him once more. He barely dodged outside the range of the attack, but the force stirred up by the huge sword still sent him flying.
"Urgh..." Itachi spat out a mouthful of blood. He understood that since he could still cough up blood, it meant the injury was not fatal yet. However, he could feel that he had completely lost control of his limbs.
Wave after wave of weakness made him feel as though he were going mad.
"Young one, I never expected you to be a... hmm, in the words of this place, a ninja?" Gesslia strode toward Itachi. Her face was slightly twisted; she apparently felt a great deal of pain, and drops of blood seeped from the leather armor covering her body.
Itachi felt somewhat dizzy, but he also understood that the injuries on this person's body had not been caused by him. Had she fought someone before this? And... right, the diary had said that this person was actually seriously injured. He wondered if his teacher could deal with her.
Meanwhile, Fujiwara Hakkai had already climbed back to his feet. He tightly gripped a Kunai in his hand.
