"So this is your trump card? One of the Mohist elders, the Divine Physician Duanmu Rong." Da Siming's gaze narrowed, her brows drawing together slightly.
"Young Master, are you planning to hand her over as an explanation? Her martial arts are nothing special; only her medical skill is astounding. Killing her may not necessarily satisfy His Majesty."
Li chuckled softly and adjusted the jade pendant at his waist.
"Wouldn't it be a pity to kill her? A living divine physician is far more valuable than a dead one."
"Young Master, you mean...?"
Da Siming raised her brows in surprise, then walked step by step toward Duanmu Rong and looked at her coldly.
"She is willing to serve us? To pledge loyalty to His Majesty?"
Da Siming's crimson eyes fixed tightly upon Duanmu Rong's frosty face, missing not the slightest change in her expression.
"That's right. Miss Divine Physician's medical skills are exceptional. Since Fusu was assassinated last time, he has understood the importance of physicians. I am naturally delighted to have Miss Divine Physician's assistance."
Li kept up the act to the very end. He certainly would not tell Da Siming that he had kept Duanmu Rong in order to become Ying Zheng's personal physician, thereby diminishing the importance of the Yin-Yang School's Lord of the Clouds in Ying Zheng's eyes.
After giving it some thought, Da Siming nodded.
"The young master's safety is naturally important. But while these Mohists are hypocritical to the extreme, they are also exceedingly stubborn about their beliefs. When our Yin-Yang School captures Mohist spies, ordinary torture and interrogation are useless; we must resort to extraordinary methods. For Duanmu Rong to surrender so easily... Young Master, beware of deception."
Li snorted coldly and rebuked her, "I possess at least this much ability to judge people.
