The air had frozen to the extreme. Li could almost feel the pressure in Star Soul's gaze toward Moon God, so intense it seemed to solidify. Yet Moon God appeared utterly oblivious to Star Soul's hostility, standing there calmly without even shifting her eyes.
Seen this way, Star Soul instead looked like a sulking child.
The thought amused Li inwardly.
"Since it is Eastern Emperor's command, Star Soul naturally would not dare disobey." His voice sounded as though it had been squeezed out through clenched teeth.
Li rubbed his chin, his gaze upon the two filled with meaning. It seemed Moon God and Star Soul truly were deeply at odds. He simply did not know what Moon God's attitude truly meant.
"Both of you make valid points. I will relay your words to Father Emperor." Li stroked the carved patterns on the armrest beneath his hand, the corners of his lips curled in a faint smile. "As for the details of Mirage Tower, we can discuss them further once my eighteenth brother arrives."

Li took Shi Lan with him as they followed a Yin-Yang School maid to the room prepared for him. Shi Lan closed her eyes to sense the surroundings, then nodded at Li.
"Young Master." Shi Lan poured Li a cup of hot tea, then seemed to fall into thought.
Li drained it in one gulp, then breathed out softly. "The one who led us here just now was Moon God's subordinate, so this place should be safe."
Shi Lan's eyes widened slightly at that. "Young Master, what do you mean?"
