Timaria seemed to have some experience herself. With a backhand slash, she blocked the opponent's attack, then whipped around—only to see a skeleton wielding a rusty blade that had struck against her sword.

This skeleton knew how to play dead?

The thought flashed through Timaria's mind. At the same time, the force transmitted through her hand startled her even more. This little skeleton did not look like much, but it was incredibly strong.

Just as Timaria was about to finish off the little skeleton for good, black light surged beneath Layla's feet. Just as it had arrived, it vanished.

Timaria understood that Li had sent it back to the undead space. She was about to settle the score with Li when another dull thud rang out from the back of her head.

Damn it all. The thought flashed through Timaria's mind.

When Timaria woke up, she found Li watching her with great interest. The ox-sinew bindings were gone from her body, replaced by a limp, aching weakness.

"You... what did you do to me?!" Timaria's face turned pale. Had he crippled her arms and legs?

Li smiled. "Just a little magical potion. It looks like you won't be able to fight for the next few days."

A flash of hatred crossed Timaria's eyes, but she also understood that she had fallen into his hands. "What do you want? You can just say it."

"Oh?" Li stroked his chin. "What do you think I'd want from you?"

Timaria froze. "What would you want from me? The equipment I'm carrying? You wouldn't go through all that trouble to capture me just for my looks, would you?"

Timaria was right. She looked to be in her twenties, though the corners of her eyes bore traces of the years she had spent traveling outside.
