Crowds of new students surged constantly through the area, making Li wonder whether something inside the academy was having a massive sale. Just as he stood there spacing out, he heard a voice. "Kid, are you here to register for the exam?"

Li paused and looked toward the voice. Four people stood there, all tall and burly, with a faint air of street thugs about them.
