The Ankhseram Temple stood on one side of the plaza, towering several hundred meters high. Several hundred steps led up to its entrance.
Li could not help but complain bitterly. Was he here to receive a gift or to suffer? Setting aside the previous two trials, Li now felt no different from an ordinary person. Climbing several hundred steps would be no less than taking his life.
Still, having made up his mind, Li started walking toward the far end of the plaza. He soon discovered that although the plaza appeared to be only a thousand meters across, actually crossing it was nowhere near as easy as he had imagined.
A mere thousand meters took Li nearly two hours to traverse.
Faced with the hundreds of steps, Li gritted his teeth. After considering it for a long time, he finally decided to climb them. That climb lasted three days and three nights. In truth, Li could sense that both the steps and the plaza moved according to some kind of rule. He had made it through only by relying on his astonishing willpower.
If Li had hesitated even slightly before, there was no way he could have reached this place.
He glanced at the Ankhseram Temple before him. From where he stood, he could easily see inside. Within was a ring formed by enormous black jade pillars, and there was nothing else.
Li frowned and strode inside. The moment he entered, three enormous goddess statues appeared within. All three were in Ankhseram's likeness, but each struck a different pose. One held a staff aloft; it represented a magical aptitude that granted powerful bonuses when casting magic. The second depicted Ankhseram dressed as a warrior, representing a substantial boost to strength. The third wore a hunter's outfit, drawing a great bow
