Li followed behind Old Jack. Old Jack truly had some skill; after all, he had once been the underground emperor of the dark world. His strength was no exaggeration.
Li had originally planned to return directly to the temple. The seal on his power had yet to be lifted, and dealing with those people earlier had left him somewhat tired. But Old Jack had insisted that Li accompany him back to the tavern.
Then, with a few punches, he knocked Jenny unconscious. He casually grabbed her as if lifting a dead dog and headed toward the tavern.
Li followed Old Jack all the way into the tavern's kitchen. In truth, it could no longer be called a kitchen, because the space was astonishingly large—more than twice the size of the area out front.
Moreover, instead of smelling food, Li sensed an inexplicable stench of blood in the kitchen. He had not smelled it with his nose; it was the strange bloody aura that only someone who had walked out of a sea of blood could perceive.
