There was nothing to tear from a skeleton knight to begin with, but even though all he bit off now was bone dust, the warrior showed no intention of giving up.
Before long, he bit through the skeleton knight's neck bone. Once its neck bone was severed, the skeleton knight stopped struggling and instantly crumbled into ash.
When the skeleton knight's mount saw its master killed, it too flew into a rage. It bit down directly on the warrior's lower back and yanked hard. In an instant, the warrior could see his own spine...
This wolfish, tiger-like magical beast was exceptionally vicious. Before anyone else could even react, it had completely dismembered the half-dead warrior before it.
Li stood there dumbfounded. He had never heard of a magical beast that specialized in dismembering corpses.
However, Rifan was certainly not among those utterly shocked. He had already fallen into a complete rage—not merely because his position as squad leader was likely gone, but because the ones who had died before his eyes were his comrades.
With a furious roar, he charged forward. In his rage, Rifan's combat prowess seemed to have risen considerably. In almost a single strike, he cleaved the skeleton knight and its mount in two. As for the other two warriors, they swiftly became entangled with the remaining two skeleton knights. From the look of it, they were practically trading their lives for the enemy's wounds.
Li gently shook his head. Though the enemy skeleton knights were at a disadvantage, they advanced and retreated in an orderly fashion, and there was no telling how many reinforcements they had. Rifan and the others, meanwhile, were fighting with their lives on the line. If the mercenaries here did not intervene, they were as good as dead.
Li's guess was correct.
