When it came to manpower, Li had a ready-made mercenary corps. Though it was only a B-rank mercenary corps, if he gave the word, people would still scramble to join.
Not to mention anything else—when Li had posted the notice, the pay and provisions listed on it had made these people drool.
Besides, it was still a B-rank mercenary corps. It was far better than starting from scratch. Leaving aside the convenience of taking on missions, if they got beaten up in a fight, they could at least shout, "I'm from a B-rank mercenary corps!"
Coupled with the fact that these young noblemen spared no effort in poaching recruits, they quickly put together a fairly decent team.
But even after the team had been assembled, it was of little use. What truly left everyone at their wits' end was intelligence.
There were fighters everywhere, but an intelligence network capable of obtaining information could not be built overnight.
Even now, they did not know the exact number of mercenaries occupying that fortress, much less the leader of that group, their strength levels, or the quality of their equipment.
They did not even have a clear grasp of the terrain around the fortress.
Of course, it was not their fault. Other than Li, who among them had truly seen the world? These noble scions might have put on all sorts of airs, but in truth, they had only just started out.
How could they possibly know where to begin gathering intelligence?
So the group sent out two teams to scout the situation. Naturally, the only result was that both teams vanished without a trace. Seeing how restless the others had become, Li spoke up directly. He would lead a group over and see for himself exactly what the enemy was capable of.
