To be honest, Malfurion truly did not believe that this level-twelve mage before him could stir up much trouble. Even after Li had summoned such a strange-looking skeleton, Malfurion merely paid it a little more attention. He intended to give these youngsters a proper lesson using the standard, traditional methods of a mage's combat!
However, Malfurion soon changed his mind. At his command, the skeleton knights immediately charged at Layla. To be honest, even Li had no idea where Layla's long-handled scythe had come from, but it certainly looked impressive. Watching the skeleton knights pounce toward her, Layla wore a somewhat disdainful expression. She opened her tongue-less mouth of bare bones and let out a fierce, soundless roar. That roar had no sound to humans, but to undead creatures, it was a thunderous bellow.
In an instant, every piece of equipment on the skeleton knights shattered, while the fires of their souls trembled before vanishing completely. Layla glanced at Li as though she had done nothing at all. Then black light flashed once more, and she disappeared from where she stood.
Li felt rather helpless as well. This contracted pet of mine really does have some style. She leaves whenever she feels like it.
Malfurion's mouth fell open, as though he could not believe the undead creatures he had summoned had been eliminated just like that. Yet when he tried to establish a mental link with his summons, he discovered that not one of the skeleton knights bound to him by contract responded. If only one had failed to respond, it might have betrayed the contract. But if none responded, then the skeleton summoned by Li must truly have directly erased them from the level of their souls.
Malfurion did not dare provoke something capable of instantly wiping out several
