Layla did not answer. She did not show any other reaction either. With a whoosh, two bony wings sprouted from her back, their texture much like that of her body. Then Layla rose directly from Meng Nan's back. A flash of black light appeared in her hand, forming a huge saber, which she swung at the Titan Apostle.
The Titan Apostle let out a long sigh. Yellow earth-origin power surged violently around his body as he engaged Layla in battle.
Li frowned. "This guy seems much stronger than before."
"This guy has lost his own consciousness now. He's being controlled directly by the Titan. Otherwise, why do you think he said those things to Layla?" the system said...
"But he said Layla has broken free of my contract?" Li opened his mouth, still unable to believe it. The system immediately replied, "What form do you think a contract takes? Do you really think it's some rule bestowed by heaven? When one party to a contract becomes strong enough to exceed what the contract can restrain, then it depends entirely on their own will.
