Background / History
Lin Yaoyang first outlined the Sun Temple as a faction dedicated to eradicating Evil Soul Masters, awakening martial souls for commoners, and restoring free martial-soul awakenings. Xiao Lie and Su Wanqing agreed to support the plan once Lin Yaoyang demonstrated his capability. 84
The Temple publicly established its reputation in the Heaven Spirit Empire’s southwestern borderlands. Its members killed Evil Soul Masters, treated injured villagers, distributed seized medicine and Gold Soul Coins, and used an Awakening Stone to awaken villagers’ martial souls. Lin Yaoyang declared that the Temple would protect civilians wherever “the sun rises.” 90 91
Martial Soul City was renamed the Sun Temple and became the faction’s headquarters. It contains a main hall and Soul Tool laboratory, while the city’s construction continued around an indestructible Angel statue located in a nearby valley. 100 127
The organization was formally established under Lin Yaoyang, then rapidly recruited light-attribute Soul Masters into twenty Red Sun Army squads within two and a half months. 106
As its influence expanded, the Temple recruited Gu Yuena and Bi Ji as elders, while Zhang Lexuan, Wu Ming, and Han Ruoruo left Shrek Academy to join it. Lin Yaoyang also resolved to establish an academy to educate and cultivate future Temple talent. 147 148
Following its victory at the All-Continent Advanced Soul Master Elite Tournament and its successful resistance to the Sun Moon Empire and Holy Spirit Cult’s attack on the tournament, the Temple became one of the continent’s foremost powers. 207 209 211 218
After Xiao Lie seized the Dou Ling throne, the Sun Temple’s relationship with Dou Ling developed into a close political, military, and technological partnership. The Temple subsequently supported the empire’s industrial modernization and continental campaigns. 227 238 240
