The scene shifts, and Kitahara has already arrived at the door of the student council meeting room. Pushing open the door, he finds the same situation as always.
The president is handling official business as usual, with the ever-present NPC Tachibana Akane by his side, though a few new faces have appeared.
"You've arrived, Kitahara. We have been waiting for quite some time," Horikita Manabu says, having already noticed Kitahara's arrival.
"Yes, President. I'm not late, am I? Why is everyone looking at me like that?"
"Junior, I've been wanting to meet you in person for a long time. I wanted to see what a 'man of the hour' like you actually looks like," the blonde youth sitting nearby speaks up before the president can reply.
"Heh, you flatter me, Senior. You are the vice president of the student council, after all. In this school, besides President Horikita, who else could possibly contend with you?" Kitahara says, his words carrying a hidden meaning.
"Heh, you certainly have a sharp tongue. But in a few months, I will naturally ascend to the position of president," Nagumo Miyabi says, shifting his gaze toward Horikita.
"Nagumo, remember that you are still just the vice president," says the boy sitting on the other side.
"Heh, Kiriyama, that is merely prey waiting to be caught."
"Hmph..."
"Enough. Let's end the idle chatter there," Horikita Manabu says, cutting off their conversation.
"Before you and Sakayanagi arrived, I had already introduced everyone. I had intended to have you introduce yourselves, but given the current situation, that won't be necessary."
"..." (What does he mean by 'not necessary'? Do I not deserve an introduction?)
Ignoring Kitahara's resentful gaze, Horikita continues, "Since Kitahara and Sakayanagi are only officially joining the student council today, you aren't very familiar with the internal operations."
"Therefore, Sakayanagi, you will have Tachibana Akane show you the workflow, and I will personally guide Kitahara. What do you think?"
"President, I have no objections," Sakayanagi, who had been silent for a long time, replies.
"Hmm..." The president nods slightly.
And that was that; the matter was settled without even asking for Kitahara's opinion.
"Let's leave today's meeting at that. Please see to your respective duties."
"Kitahara, Sakayanagi, stay behind."
"Ah..." Kitahara says, looking puzzled.
"Aren't you here to submit your club application form?" Horikita says, looking at Kitahara with a speechless expression. He truly wonders how the boy managed to collect so many points.
Although he doesn't know how he and Sakayanagi split those 8 million points, his conservative estimate is that Kitahara already has around 15 million points on hand.
"Uh... sorry about that..." (Damn it, I must have been doing too much raiding; my brain has gone sluggish. It seems I need to collect 20 million points quickly to obtain that extraordinary physique. Once I have that, I won't have to worry no matter how long I fight.)
(However, at this moment, Kitahara is only thinking of himself, not considering his teammates in the three-man squad—especially Kanzaki, whose nerves are destined to be frayed to the point of collapse.)
As Kitahara waits in place, the blonde vice president walks past and says to him, "Junior Kitahara, I will be sure to take good care of you, to repay you for the gift this time."
By the time Kitahara reacts, Nagumo Miyabi has already left the meeting room.
Kitahara's brain suddenly kicks into gear: Why didn't he intervene when President Horikita was assigning us? Wouldn't that have been the perfect excuse to approach us openly?
Besides, isn't he a scumbag? Did he not feel a thing even seeing a top-tier loli like Sakayanagi?
While still deep in thought, Kitahara feels his pant leg being poked. Looking down, he sees it is Sakayanagi using her cane.
[Though, looking down from this angle, Sakayanagi's figure is indeed...]
Noticing the change in Kitahara's expression, Sakayanagi smiles and says, "Were you thinking of something inappropriate just now, Kitahara?"
Feeling the chill hidden behind that smile, Kitahara knows he cannot tell the truth, so he says, "I was just thinking that you should be making your second request soon. After all, we both know very well who solved the trouble during this exam."
"Heh, I didn't realize you had the ability to predict the future, Kitahara," Sakayanagi teases slightly.
Seeing that she seems to be letting him off the hook, Kitahara lets out a slow sigh of relief.
"By the way, how should we settle the matter of you borrowing my subordinate?" Sakayanagi continues.
"Uh... she did that to make amends for violating my previous instructions," Kitahara explains, his face not turning red or skipping a beat.
He completely ignores the scene of Kamuro's rage after he explained things to her in Class B earlier.
"Is that so? It seems Kamuro is quite suited to Kitahara's expectations," Sakayanagi says out of the blue.
Caught off guard, Kitahara doesn't know what she means, so he can only say, "She was just the only person available. Besides, these are the only people I know."
"Heh..."
"Why haven't you two come over yet?" Horikita Manabu asks, watching them talk as if they had forgotten he was still there.
"Oh... right. President, this is my club application form," Kitahara says, handing the form to Horikita Manabu.
After a brief look, Horikita Manabu says, "I didn't expect the three members of your club to come from different classes. When did you build these relationships?"
"Sigh... it's just that this club is too tempting."
"Heh..." Seeing that Kitahara doesn't want to explain, Horikita decides not to press the issue.
"Very well, you may go. I approve your club application. The school hasn't assigned a classroom yet, but I will let you know the location when it's ready."
"Understood, President," Kitahara replies respectfully, but he shows no intention of leaving.
He simply holds his phone silently, his eyes constantly signaling the president.
Soon, Horikita realizes what he wants. His mouth twitches slightly, and he quickly operates his phone, decisively transferring 2 million points to him.
After receiving the points, Kitahara happily said to Horikita Manabu, "President, goodbye."
Sigh... Just as he was about to leave, Kitahara turned back to the president and asked:
"President, is there something you need from Sakayanagi?"
Hearing Kitahara's question, Horikita Manabu simply smiled and said, "It's nothing. Sakayanagi isn't in good health, so she needs someone to see her off."
Although the reason given was simple, the true motive remained unknown.
"Oh..." The usually sharp Kitahara believed this excuse without hesitation; after all, in his eyes, the two of them didn't seem to have any direct connection.
Kitahara then walked over to Sakayanagi and, just as he had done before, gently offered his arm to help her leave the student council room.
Watching their retreating figures, Horikita Manabu murmured, "Sakayanagi, I hope you can complete the deal between us before I leave."
Before you continue
