Background / History

Vito had already earned recognition for helping the Steel Legion suppress an Ork invasion in the Armageddon Sector, receiving praise from Commissar Yarrick. He was expected to leave rather than remain for official commendations. 1

He later participated in the aftermath of the Month of Shame, choosing not to destroy the exhausted Space Wolves fleet after it fought the Orks and the Inquisition. Instead, he opened a route for the Space Wolves to withdraw with their refugees, earning lasting respect from the Chapter. He also helped prevent a lasting conflict between the Dark Angels and Silver Skulls. 40

Arriving on Owen-4 under the identity of a Rogue Trader, Vito pursued a missing military shuttle and its crew. He gained Antonio’s cooperation by recovering a cargo truck and its Crimson Essence shipment from xenos raiders, then followed Antonio’s lead to Victoria Hive. 7 9 10

In Victoria’s Underhive, Vito cultivated alliances with Olivia Caen-Johnson, known locally as Silver Snake, and infiltrated the Devout Society. He manipulated the conflict between the Devout Society and Hammer Gang, helped place Henry Moore in command of the Underhive Convent, and used the resulting access to investigate the cult from within. 15 17 20 25

After Omega’s interrogation of Mosley confirmed Genestealer involvement and an approaching Tyranid threat, Vito disclosed his status as an Ordo Xenos Inquisitor to Olivia and Marshall. He infiltrated the Association of Heralds, identified the cult’s infiltrators in Victoria’s government, and helped expose Governor Luwen and the Genestealer Patriarch. 24 25 34 38

Following the cult’s collapse, Vito restored Olivia to the governorship and coordinated Victoria’s defense during the Tyranid invasion. He directed Imperial forces, rallied civilians and soldiers, located the Norn Queen through a Zoanthrope, and led a boarding operation into a Tyranid bio-ship. 38 44 45 46 49 50
