That was the last thing Hogg heard before leaving the World Engine. He couldn't make out the second half, but Zoffy must have been praising his quick wit. Otherwise, there was no explaining why she looked so worked up and was waving her arms so frantically.

"Thanks, my clone. You really are my best brother. I'm lucky to have you in my life."

Hogg shifted in the huge bed. That whole ordeal had worn him out. Seeing a few half-eaten bags of snacks nearby, he grabbed them and stuffed them into his mouth, wondering if the Stormlord had been messing with him. Nothing had happened after he left.

Before Hogg could wonder any further, a violent shaking rocked the Moyu. He hurried to the bridge to see what was going on.

As soon as he arrived, Hogg saw a group of people crouched on the floor, wailing as if their mother had just died. They were so grief-stricken that it was downright pitiful.

He grabbed Ginny, the Fourth Captain, from a corner and asked,

"What happened? Why are you all huddled here crying?"

"Waaah! It's all gone! Everything! Father is dead! What are we going to do now? The romance novel I based on him hasn't even been published yet!"

"Yeah! Now that Father's dead, can I have a share of his assets?"

"???"

"Who said I was dead?" Hogg grabbed Ginny by the scruff of her neck and pried her eyes open, making her take a good look at him. He was clearly alive and well.

But Ginny's single-track mind seemed to be having trouble processing things. She stared at Hogg for a few seconds before crying out,
