Four Elements City had not borne that name from the beginning.

At first, the city had been called Linlong, because it was a strategic site for both Heaven Dou and the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan.

It could be said that whoever controlled this city held the Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan's vital transportation route.

Only, as the three great clans took root here, the place gradually evolved into a stage where various powers struggled against one another.

The Shui Clan of Skywater Academy controlled the waterways and docks in the north of the city, while the Fire Clan of Blazing Fire Academy firmly gripped the lifeline of the smithies and ore veins in the south. The Wind Clan of Godwind Academy occupied the relay stations and trade routes in the west.

The three great clans each ran their own affairs independently. On the surface they remained cordial, but in private they competed in secret, none willing to show weakness.

The Blue Lightning Tyrant Dragon Clan sent people to establish Thunder Academy, and Spirit Hall's lackeys, the Elephant Armor Sect, set up Elephant Armor Academy here as well. Only then did Four Elements City truly become lively.

At first, it had merely been Thunder Academy moving in that caused the city to be renamed Four Elements City.

But after Spirit Hall learned the significance of this city, the Elephant Armor Sect came as well.
