Background

Zhou Qiubai is a transmigrant from Earth who spent sixteen years in the Douluo Continent cultivating martial arts despite awakening a supposedly crippled Martial Soul with no Innate Soul Power. 1 10

He is an orphan who grew up on food given by many households and lived in ruined temples. Having received neither surname nor given name, he named himself after being born in late autumn and seeing frost-covered mountains: Zhou Qiubai. He named the sword he found while dressed in white the White Clothes Sword. 27 44

Before becoming known in the Soul Master world, Zhou worked as a guide for Skywater Academy students hunting Spirit Beasts near the Star Dou Forest. Shui Bing’er trusted him to protect the younger students despite his reputation for possessing a useless Martial Soul. 1 3

He discovered that martial arts and soul power could coexist after reaching the first level of his martial-arts realm, when a sky-blue soul ring manifested on his body. He subsequently developed methods to combine the two systems. 2
