Karochi used Instant Transmission in a panic, a sense of fluster even he could feel himself.
Whoosh!
Karochi appeared in the control room.
"Little Chi, you just...!" Before Tights could finish her sentence, Karochi interrupted her with a look of terror.
"Go, we have to go! We can't stay here." His speech was incredibly rapid, for even after leaving Planet Akasque, Karochi could still feel that overwhelming fear of death.
His Sixth Sense was screaming with alarms, the first time it had ever done so in his life.
Tights was equally stunned to see Karochi with such an expression; in the five-plus years they had known each other, this was the first time she had ever seen him this panicked.
No matter what kind of enemy he had encountered before, Karochi had always been full of confidence.
This time was no different; Karochi hadn't taken the Armored Squadron seriously at all, and he had indeed finished them off without much effort.
So what on earth had happened to make him this panicked and afraid?
Tights didn't ask any further questions, as Karochi had already stepped toward the console to initiate the ship's warp drive!
That's right, he wasn't just starting the ship's flight; he was engaging an ultra-long-distance warp.
It wasn't until they entered the warp tunnel that the warning from his Sixth Sense finally ceased, allowing Karochi to let out a sigh of relief.
"What exactly happened? Can you tell me now?" Seeing this, Tights immediately asked, her curiosity piqued.
Karochi scratched his head. "I can't even put it into words. My Sixth Sense was blaring like crazy, and I truly felt the fear of death, which is why I was so desperate."
Tights was baffled. She knew that the Sixth Sense was a secret technique Karochi had practiced on Yardrat, but what could possibly have triggered such a reaction?
"Oh, right, Tights! The scout drones are still on Akasque, aren't they? Can you still connect to them from this far away?" Karochi was also curious about what could have caused his Sixth Sense to go haywire and make him feel such a genuine threat to his life.
"Of course I can!" Tights immediately began to operate the controls.
On the other side, aboard Cooler's ship, a spacefarer reported in a panic, "Lord... Lord Cooler, the signal from the Armored Squadron has vanished!"
The alien was drenched in cold sweat, unsure if he would even survive the encounter.
Cooler's expression didn't change in the slightest, as if it weren't his own subordinates who had died. He remained standing in front of the viewport, arms crossed over his chest.
"Oh? Did they encounter some powerful enemy?" His tone was stiff and devoid of warmth; Cooler was far more mature than Frieza.
This maturity didn't refer to physical growth or power, but to his mindset.
When the Ginyu Force was wiped out, Frieza had felt humiliated and flew into a rage, heading straight to Fidel Planet to destroy it, whereas Cooler would have judged whether it was worth wasting his time.
"According to Salza's sensors, no powerful presence appeared!" After all, the feedback data had been zero, which meant there was nothing there!
The entire Armored Squadron had power levels exceeding one hundred thousand; if they had lost contact after meeting an enemy, that enemy would surely have to be far stronger than the three of them combined.
"Interesting. Are you suggesting that Salza and his men defected?" Cooler turned around, his cold eyes fixed on the alien, the bone-chilling glare causing the reporter to collapse onto his knees.
He felt as though he could be killed at any moment!
"R-reporting to Your Lordship... this one suspects it was not a defection. Lord Salza was using his full power before contact was lost! The other two lords were doing the same!" Because Cooler didn't install listening devices on his subordinates, he couldn't obtain more information.
This was also Cooler's arrogance; he didn't care at all about the thoughts of the cannon fodder under his command.
"Heh! Interesting. Tell me, could it be the Tree of Might?" Cooler licked the corner of his mouth, the cold light in his eyes making the alien tremble.
The reporter didn't dare to answer, only shivering as he prostrated himself on the floor.
"Pass the order: head to Akasque!" Cooler intended to go see for himself; after all, it was possible those pieces of trash had been tempted to keep a treasure like the Tree of Might for themselves.
"Y-yes, Your Lordship!" The alien felt as if he had been granted a reprieve; at the very least, he wouldn't die now that he had to go deliver Lord Cooler's orders.
"Come back!" Cooler, sitting on his throne, barked before the alien had even fully exited the room.
The alien prostrated himself again, trembling. "Does Your Lordship have any other instructions?"
He was on the verge of a mental breakdown.
"How long will it take to reach that Akasque?" Cooler asked, staring straight ahead without looking at him.
"Reporting to Your Lordship, it will take about two days!" the alien replied truthfully.
Cooler fixed his gaze on him, the bone-chilling coldness making the alien shake uncontrollably. "One day. I want to be there in one day."
"Y-yes, Your Lordship! I will go pass the order immediately." The alien was almost in tears; it wasn't as if he could just make it happen by saying so!
As the alien retreated from the cabin, Cooler's eyes burned with excitement. In his view, the Tree of Might was surely on this Planet Akasque.
"Heh! Whoever it is, anyone who dares to claim my treasure deserves to die!" Cooler could no longer contain his excitement.
On Planet Akasque, less than a hundred miles from where Karochi had fought Salza, a massive explosion erupted.
The deafening sound and the flash of fire sent the birds and beasts in the forest scattering in terror. Thick black smoke blotted out the sky, making it impossible to see what had actually happened.
"Tights, it's right over there! There must be something inside!" Observing the situation from within the ship, Karochi spoke to Tights immediately.
Tights had naturally noticed it as well. "Alright, alright! I see it. It's a bit of a distance away, though."
A hundred kilometers was but a stone's throw for Karochi, but for the small scout drones, it would take a significant amount of time to arrive.
Within the smoke, a beautiful girl with long orange hair and light-blue skin looked around in confusion, as if she were deeply puzzled.
The woman was as petite as a young girl, yet she possessed a stunning figure and pointed ears, much like an elf.
"I...? Who am I?" The woman's voice was ethereal and exceptionally pleasant, yet she felt bewildered as to why she had appeared here or who she was.
The woman looked up at the sky, and a surge of immense power instantly blew away the surrounding smoke and dust! She soared into the air, and the terrifying force sent the scouting machine that had been approaching her flying backward.
"This!!!?" Tights was shocked. To have such destructive power from a hundred miles away! Just who on earth was this? She looked at the land and forest, which had been reduced to a scene of utter devastation.
Tights finally understood why Karochi had been so desperate to run away earlier.
Karochi's pupils constricted as he watched this scene; this was something even a Super Saiyan might not be able to achieve! At the very least, a newly transformed Super Saiyan would not possess such power.
However, Karochi could not sense any powerful energy signature, which was very strange! With such power, the opponent's strength should be outrageously high, and the inability to sense an energy signature was a trait usually reserved for Androids.
"Sister Tights, slow down as we get closer!! The opponent is very strong; don't startle them," Karochi said solemnly. He still didn't know who the person was, nor was he certain if they possessed any special abilities.
It was always better to be cautious.
"Yeah, I know that!!" Tights rolled her eyes at Karochi. If it weren't for this brat insisting on investigating, she would have wanted to give up entirely.
After all, the opponent's strength was too exaggerated; she didn't even know what they had done to cause such a massive commotion just a moment ago!
The scouting machine slowly approached, taking over half an hour to reach the site of the disturbance.
The area was unrecognizable; large swathes of land had been scorched, and the surroundings looked as if they had been wiped clean by an eraser, leaving nothing behind.
"Huh? No one here!!" Tights was puzzled, though it was normal; after all, it wasn't as if the person would just stay in one place waiting for them to arrive.
Tights turned to look at Karochi. "It seems they've left. How about we stop the investigation? It's actually quite dangerous."
Karochi looked at her in surprise. Good heavens! Tights actually understood the meaning of the word "dangerous"? This was truly rare; Tights was no longer rushing in blindly.
"We're already very far away, so... it should be fine, right!!?" Karochi couldn't guarantee it, as this universe was filled with countless strange and bizarre abilities.
For all he knew, the opponent might actually be able to crawl through the signal line!
Back at Akasque, directly above the scouting machine sent by Karochi and Tights, the woman grew increasingly agitated because she couldn't remember who she was! It seemed that because she had been asleep for too long, she had forgotten certain things.
"Boss... Boss? Who is the boss!?" The woman voiced her questions. She only remembered that the boss was terrifying!! It seemed there were five of them, and they had apparently been defeated and severely wounded by some entity.
That was why they had chosen this planet to sleep on, but she had forgotten the rest!! She only remembered fragmented events.
The woman turned her head in confusion, looking toward the direction of the scouting machine! Although it was small, she keenly sensed that it was not a living organism!!
Swish!
The woman vanished from mid-air, and the next second, she appeared right in front of the scouting machine.
"Huh~! A mechanical scouting device." The woman voiced her confusion. She had roughly searched this planet earlier and found no intelligent species had been born here. So, who could have left this behind??
Inside the spaceship, Karochi naturally saw this scene, and his spine instantly turned cold as he froze in place!! Three years ago, he had apparently talked about Frieza courting death.
But damn it~! Who was the one courting death? Wasn't it me??
Was I just dancing at the gates of King Yemma? And somehow managed to survive? Karochi asked himself, stunned.
Watching Karochi's complex expression, Tights couldn't help but be taken aback! Had her brat of a younger brother taken a liking to that girl??
