"Impossible!!!" Dodoria's eyes nearly bulged out of his head. Someone had actually blocked the king's Death Beam! Who on earth was this guy? Even Zarbon could no longer maintain his handsome composure.

Frieza had already come out of the state he'd been in moments earlier. The demonic energy's interference had left him with only a vague memory of what he'd done. But that didn't matter. What enraged him most was that someone had blocked his Death Beam.

As the light faded, a young Saiyan appeared! His tail swished behind him, making his identity clear. He glanced at the unharmed Bardock with obvious relief. "Phew! That was close. I made it in time."

That had really scared him. He hadn't expected Frieza to stoop so low and launch a killing blow at Bardock without warning.

If that attack had landed, Bardock would have been badly injured, even if he'd transformed into a Super Saiyan on the spot.

"You are...?" Bardock was stunned. The Saiyan looked like he was still a child. Had he just taken Frieza's attack for him? He wasn't sure; he hadn't even been able to follow what happened.

Karochi didn't answer. After all, he and Bardock weren't destined to cross paths.

"A Saiyan? And a young one at that!" Frieza narrowed his eyes from inside his hover pod. His opponent had been strong enough to block his attack. "What's his battle power?"

He asked the humanoid alien behind him. Since he couldn't sense energy and wasn't wearing a Scouter, he had no idea how strong the other Saiyan was.

The alien behind him shuddered and immediately switched on his Scouter. But after the numbers flickered wildly, it displayed '0.' Though he could hardly believe it, he reported the result truthfully. "R-report, my lord. The target's battle power reads
