"Open up! Prostitution crackdown!"
Crash!
The hotel room door was kicked open without mercy.
A woman with long, thick black hair strode in.
Leng Qing wore a teal Judgment Association vest that tightly bound her full, almost-bursting chest. Black stockings outlined her long, straight legs, while her thighs were unexpectedly soft and shapely.
A flashlight beam shone over them. The two girls on the soft bed cried out and covered their faces.
"Light."
Mu Ningwei raised a hand, twisting the flashlight's beam into a glowing orb that shone from the ceiling and illuminated the upscale hotel room.
"The Judgment Association?"
Mu Nujiao cried out when she saw Leng Qing's uniform.
Mu Ningwei looked Leng Qing over in surprise. "Has it gotten this bad in the country? They're sending Judgment Association officers for prostitution crackdowns now?"
Mu Nuxin covered her cheeks and said softly, "Miss Judgment Officer, is there some misunderstanding?"
Leng Qing looked at the two shy young girls on the bed. Both had lovely black hair and delicate features, one older and one younger, with strikingly similar looks. A hint of disdain flashed through her eyes.
They were even sisters!
"There's no misunderstanding."
Leng Qing was all business, her pretty face icy. She pulled out a small notebook and pen from the pocket by her perky, black-stocking-wrapped backside, held them before her chest, and clicked out the ballpoint tip.
"Names, genders, ages, phone numbers, home addresses. One at a time."
Mu Nujiao frowned. "Miss, you really have misunderstood."
Mu Nuxin said, "Yes, yes. We're members of the Mu Clan, and this is our cousin. He just returned from abroad. We were planning to rent a place together outside, but we couldn't find anything suitable today, so we rested at a hotel for the night. It really isn't what you think."
Mu Nuxin's cheeks reddened. "We didn't do anything."
Leng Qing's pupils shook.
They were even members of the same clan?
Was the Mu Clan that open-minded?
Not only were they sisters, they were from the same clan. She just didn't know whether they were close relatives or distant relations separated by eight hundred generations, with only the title of siblings between them.
"Do young people these days really love chasing thrills that much?"
Leng Qing's face heated up. What a taboo game.
She took a deep breath.
"Since you are members of the Mu Clan, I won't investigate further if you can prove your identities."
Mu Ningwei yawned and forced himself awake. "I can give you the clan head's number."
Leng Qing wrote down the number, then tucked the notebook and pen back beside her perky, black-stocking-wrapped backside and sucked in a breath.
They were that bold? After sleeping with a pair of sisters, he still dared to call the clan head? When had the aristocratic circles become so chaotic?
"Since that's the case, I'll be leaving first. Remember, young people should exercise restraint—no, young people should be rational. Don't bury your future for a momentary thrill!"
Leng Qing turned to leave, behind her Mu Nuxin's flushed face and Mu Nujiao's somewhat displeased gaze.
After all, being disturbed in the middle of the night made it hard not to wake up cranky.
"Wait, Miss Judgment Officer."
Mu Ningwei threw back the blanket. All three of them were fully dressed, though their clothes were somewhat rumpled.
Leng Qing realized that she might really have misunderstood.
"I apologize for disturbing you siblings while you were resting, but please do this in your own home in the future."
Mu Nuxin's face turned even redder.
Mu Nujiao was speechless. "I think you're the one with an impure mind."
Mu Ningwei put on his flip-flops. "A prostitution crackdown doesn't require a Judgment Officer, and you were far too easy to talk to. It looked more like you were pretending to conduct a prostitution crackdown while actually investigating the hotel."
"If I'm not mistaken, you're looking for the vampire upstairs, right?"
Leng Qing's gaze sharpened. "That vampire is upstairs? How did you know?"
The Mu Family Sisters exclaimed, "Eh? A vampire!"
Mu Ningwei waved a hand. "Europe has the most vampires. I dealt with quite a few of them before, so I can detect the smell of that rotten blood."
"Enough talk. Let's go catch the vampire first."
Tap, tap, tap.
Mu Ningwei walked in his flip-flops, rubbing the corner of his eye as a dark gleam flashed through his eyes.
Leng Qing hurried after him.
"Brother Ningwei, wait for us!" The sisters hurriedly got down and put on their shoes as well.
Mu Nujiao in particular became extremely excited when she heard they were going to fight a vampire, rushing over impatiently.
A dozen seconds later, they took the stairs to the floor above.
At Mu Ningwei's signal, Leng Qing raised one of her long, toned legs and kicked the door open with a bang.
"Light."
Mu Ningwei lit up a soft white glow, illuminating the room.
The Mu Family Sisters arrived then as well, standing at the doorway and watching curiously.
Leng Qing had wanted to scold the Mu Family Sisters for standing too close, since they might get hurt if a fight broke out, but before she could speak, the sight before her stunned her.
A pale, soft-featured man was bound to a pitch-black cross.
Dark threads held him tightly in place, carving his flesh into taut, turtle-shell-like sections. With only a little more force, they seemed capable of cutting him into countless tiny cubes.
What Leng Qing found strange was that although he was restrained, his bulging eyes were filled with fanatical devotion.
It was as though he had seen the true god of his faith, or as though his will had been twisted. He panted excitedly, staring up at the ceiling in utter fervor.
Madman...
Leng Qing murmured inwardly. On the messy bed sat a beautiful woman with vacant eyes and a pale face.
Because she had awakened the Mind Element as her third element, Leng Qing could tell that the woman had been charmed and controlled by the vampire. Other than that, she was unharmed.
Fortunately, the vampire had not had time to commit any evil.
"Brother Ningwei is amazing!"
Mu Nuxin clutched the corner of Mu Ningwei's clothes with both hands, her wide adoring eyes sparkling with little stars.
"Brother Ningwei already dealt with it?"
Mu Nujiao was somewhat disappointed.
Leng Qing studied the Dark Cross and its threads. Even beneath the illumination of Light, that shadow magic remained. Was it some special shadow substance?
"Thank you for your help, Mu Ningwei."
Mu Ningwei waved a hand. "It was only a small fry that had just entered the General Level."
Leng Qing sighed. "You look barely over twenty, yet you already possess such strength."
"Brother Ningwei was a Silver Moon Knight at Parthenon!"
Mu Nuxin boasted.
I have a brother who's both handsome and powerful. Do you?
"Silver Moon Knight?"
Leng Qing was truly shocked. Every Silver Moon Knight was at least an expert among high-level mages!
A trace of awkwardness flashed across Mu Ningwei's face. "That's all in the past. I'm just an ordinary person now."
Leng Qing could not help asking the question in her heart. "You discovered the vampire beforehand. Why didn't you act, or notify the Judgment Association? And why is this vampire wearing such a... strange expression?"
"In Europe, not all vampires are evil. Quite a few legal vampires live within human society, so I wouldn't deliberately arrest vampires."
"Before you appeared, I didn't know that this vampire was a criminal. He showed himself so openly that I assumed he was a legal vampire."
Who would have thought he was so arrogant only because you people couldn't catch him?
"As for that expression..."
Mu Ningwei said casually, "This magic tool of mine, the Dark Cross, was stained with the essence blood of a vampire marquis—meaning a Monarch-level vampire. He was probably reminded of home and missed his ancestors."
"Monarch-level!?" the three women cried out.
