"Thank you for teaching me how to master Spirit Control. Until we meet again."
Sun Wumian bid farewell to the inhabitants of Planet Yardrat, retrieved his spaceship from the system storage, and prepared to depart.
"Spaceship, initiate launch!"
After he pressed the start button, the spherical ship transformed into a streak of light and vanished into the sky of Planet Yardrat.
"Alright, before I start training with the gravity system, let's have some music."
"Gradually being drawn to you...♪"
Wait, the GT theme song? No way.
The familiar melody startled Sun Wumian.
"Fine, this will give me some passion for training. Let's start with one hundred times gravity."
"Yah! Ah-da-da-da-da!"
"One hundred times gravity is no longer a problem. Next, adjust to two hundred times."
Sun Wumian had no idea how much time had passed.
"Approaching Planet Frieza No. 79; approaching..."
The sudden alert from the spaceship's control room startled Sun Wumian.
What's going on? He was confused. How did he end up at the planet of the galactic emperor, Frieza?
"That makes no sense. Bulma said all I had to do was press the red button," Sun Wumian recalled. "Wait, that's not right. I was a bit too excited after learning Instant Transmission; I think I pressed the yellow button instead."
"Whatever. Since I'm here, I might as well play with Frieza. I haven't tested my strength since becoming a Super Saiyan; he'll make a perfect whetstone."
Upon second thought, Sun Wumian decided this was actually a good thing.
Meanwhile.
"Beep, beep..."
"Hm? Something is coming." The soldiers on Planet Frieza No. 79 spotted Sun Wumian's spaceship.
"A spherical spaceship. It's a combatant," one of Frieza's soldiers remarked.
"The signal... it's a Saiyan. Strange, wasn't Planet Vegeta destroyed by a meteor?"
"I don't know, and we haven't received any return communication. Hey, this is control. A Saiyan has arrived. Go check it out immediately."
"On it!"
Boom! No sooner had the words left his mouth than the massive spherical ship smashed into the landing pad, causing significant damage.
The landing site had been designed for a single-person spherical ship, but Bulma and her father had modified the small vessel to be several times larger.
"..." The soldiers who arrived to investigate were speechless. What was going on?
Sun Wumian slowly opened the hatch and stepped out, then flicked his hand to store the spaceship back into his system inventory.
"It really is a Saiyan combatant. Hey, who are you? Why isn't there any record of you in our database?"
"There's no need for you to know that. Where is Frieza? Is he on this planet?" Sun Wumian couldn't be bothered to answer them and asked directly instead.
"Lord Frieza? His Lordship is right here. Are you a surviving Saiyan? Do you want to serve Lord Frieza again? State your name first."
"Of course... not. My goal is to fight Frieza."
"Hahaha... you want to fight His Lordship with a combat power of only 5,000?" A soldier pressed his scouter and burst into laughter.
"Is that so?" Sun Wumian said, slightly increasing his combat power.
Boom... The sound of several scouters exploding echoed in succession.
"This... this..." The soldiers were too terrified to speak.
Immediately after, Sun Wumian fired a ki blast, blowing a massive hole in a nearby building. He could already sense Frieza's ki—it was right over there.
Lord Frieza made a flashy entrance, seated in his hoverchair.
"Who dares to violate my rules and fight here?"
"Frieza, it's me. Sorry, my hand slipped," Sun Wumian said, rubbing his nose with a smile.
"A Saiyan? I didn't expect there to be any other Saiyans alive besides Vegeta and his group."
"Frieza, hurry up and transform into your final form to fight me. I don't want you to be killed by me before you even transform."
"Hehehe... do you know something, Saiyan? But with your meager strength? Are you joking with this Lord?" Frieza chuckled, stroking his chin.
"Tch... so much talk. Of course I know; Planet Vegeta was destroyed by you." As Sun Wumian spoke, he moved at high speed behind Frieza and delivered a flying kick.
Bang! Frieza and his chair slammed into the ground, leaving him covered in dust.
"Hm? It seems you weren't just boasting. You actually have some skill." Frieza stood up quickly and brushed the dirt off his body.
"It's nothing special, I'm just stronger than you. Hurry up and transform into your final form; I'm a busy man."
"Hmph, you certainly have a sharp tongue. Very well, I will let you experience the abyss of despair."
"Aaaaaah!" A massive ball of light exploded against Frieza, and when he finally revealed his true form, he had transformed into his Dumpling Head state.
This was Frieza's true appearance; his other forms were merely intentional suppressions designed to restrain his overwhelming combat power.
"How many years has it been since we last saw Lord Frieza take this form? Is that Saiyan really that strong?"
"He must have some skill, otherwise, where would he get the guts to provoke Lord Frieza?"
Several soldiers whispered among themselves as they retreated into the distance.
"This is getting more and more interesting. I hope you can keep me entertained." Thanks to the Saiyan blood flowing through his veins, Sun Wumian began to grow excited.
"What? Arrogant!" Frieza clearly heard Sun Wumian's words and immediately unleashed his signature attack, the Death Beam.
Pew! Pew!
"That move is useless against me. Give me something new." With a slight flick of his right hand, Sun Wumian easily swatted the Death Beam away.
"Impossible... you actually blocked it with one hand?" Frieza's eyes widened in disbelief.
"If the Emperor of the Universe, Frieza, only has this much strength, then this is truly boring," Sun Wumian said, shaking his head. He was intentionally trying to enrage Frieza.
"Saiyan, if you were smart, you would have hidden away. I only used half of my power just now; the terror is only just beginning."
Frieza remained calm.
A-da-da-da, ya-da-da-da...
The two clashed once again, their fists and feet trading blows in what appeared to be an incredibly fierce exchange, though in reality, it was nothing more than a warm-up.
"I wonder, are you better at aerial combat or ground combat?" Sun Wumian suddenly asked with a smile, as if remembering something.
"Annoying brat, what are you trying to say? You are a bit stronger than I imagined, but you cannot defeat me."
"I mean, I'll give you a bit of an advantage; otherwise, this won't be any fun," Sun Wumian continued.
"Hehehe, so confident? It makes no difference to me. How about aerial combat?"
"Then let's go up." Sun Wumian pointed toward the sky.
Following this, the two flew into mid-air and stood facing each other.
The real battle was only just beginning.
