Goku scratched his head. "Huh?"
Why had the Guardian suddenly asked him to go back with him?
The Guardian took a couple of steps forward, his voice heavy with emotion. "I was still young when I escaped from Namek and came to Earth. I don't know how many years have passed since then, or how many of my people are still alive."
"Now that Kasso has given me its location, I finally have a chance to go back and see my home planet. I'll meet my people, then come right back!"
"After all, I've put down roots on Earth."
The Guardian looked up at the endless void, yearning to glimpse his home planet.
No one spoke on the Lookout. The silence grew absolute, and beside the Guardian's aged figure, the moment felt like an ending.
The Guardian had wanted to go back alone. But after spending so many years with Kasso, he knew the powers in the universe were tangled together, and all of them were incredibly strong.
If he ran into some vicious scoundrel on the way back, he might never make it home!
The Guardian knew that someone like Kasso spent every day training. Even with his great strength, he probably wouldn't have time to help with this.
And Popo...
He had to guard the Lookout. There was no way he could leave Earth!
The only one who could help him was Goku, standing right there.
The Guardian turned to Goku. He had guided Goku ever since he was a child, so it wouldn't be wrong to call him his disciple.
Besides, Goku was a Saiyan. The Guardian could no longer fathom how strong he was. With Goku there, the journey would surely be safe!
That made Goku the best person to accompany him!
Goku thought it over.
