If Goku couldn't break through to Super Saiyan, he probably wouldn't be able to beat Slug!
Still, Goku having a battle power of 2 million was unexpected, too.
After all, Goku had never eaten a Spirit Fruit!
"Whis, you've really put a lot of effort into teaching Kakarot!" Kasso chuckled.
Whis rolled his eyes but didn't argue.
With martial arts thriving on Earth and Goku's pure heart, he had built an exceptionally solid foundation.

If Whis hadn't taken Ausbie on as his disciple, he would have wanted to recruit Goku, too!
Ausbie covered her rosy lips. "Brother, you have to admit, sometimes Whis treats Goku even better than he treats me!"
Bulma and Fili knew that Whis was an incredibly powerful warrior, but also that he had a good nature and wouldn't take little things to heart. They burst out laughing.
Whis took a sip of soda and said helplessly, "Can you just enjoy the show?"
Hearing that, everyone stopped teasing Whis and watched the battle below with keen interest.
Slug swung a punch at Goku.
