Beerus's ready agreement was exactly what Champa had hoped for. Champa said excitedly, "Good. Then let's add another rule: no one is allowed to touch the energy barrier. Anyone who touches it will be eliminated immediately."
"Magetta, get up there."
As soon as Champa finished speaking, the Metal Man Magetta dropped into the arena. He held two bottles of what looked like fuel in his hands, then chugged them both in one go.
Seeing what Magetta had done, Gohan immediately became more cautious.
Gohan first made a probing attack. He accelerated into a run, flashed above Magetta's head, and brought down a powerful axe kick.
With a loud clang, Gohan narrowed his eyes and looked over. Magetta was completely unharmed. He had not even lowered his head.
Just as Gohan was about to retreat, a Molten Flame Ray shot from Magetta's mouth straight at him. Gohan flipped backward and quickly evaded it.
Gohan had originally wanted to use the Flight Technique to circle through the air and attack, but the energy barrier robbed him of his aerial advantage. The moment he rose up, he nearly crashed into it. Under the newly revised rules, touching the energy barrier also meant elimination. This put Gohan in a difficult position.
This rule happened to suit Magetta perfectly. He was huge, and as a Metal Man, he did not need to fly. Magetta also seemed to grow more and more excited. The temperature within his body continued rising, and the molten blasts from his mouth never stopped, as though he had an endless supply of magma inside him.
Seeing this, Beerus berated Champa from the viewing platform. "Hey, Champa. You're pretty sneaky. So this energy barrier was set up specifically to benefit your contestant. I was wondering why you suddenly changed the rules."
