The sun sank in the west.
Chu Feng focused on making hamburgers. The aroma of Iron-Headed Pig meat drew quite a few students over to watch, but none of them disturbed him.
Wang Dong and Xiao Xiao sat together, whispering to each other. No one knew what they were talking about.
Two hours later, Chu Feng looked at the twenty giant hamburgers in front of him and was quite satisfied. They looked plain enough, but were packed with ingredients: cream, juicy fried egg tart pieces, deep-fried meat slices, and more. One bite was enough to send you straight to heaven.
"All right, come try them."
Chu Feng called out to Wang Dong and Xiao Xiao.
"Done?"
The two stood up. Seeing the twenty giant hamburgers on the cart, they were stunned.
"What are these?"
"How are we supposed to eat them?"
"Are we meant to just pick them up and bite into them? They're so big. That'd look really uncouth..."
Wang Dong and Xiao Xiao looked at Chu Feng questioningly.
You spent over two hours making this huge pile of... whatever it was?
"Quit talking and eat."
Chu Feng was already hungry. He picked up a hamburger first and took a bite right through the middle. Juices burst out, and the aroma filled the air. It tasted even better than the hamburgers from his previous life!
Chu Feng's eyes lit up. He didn't care about appearances at all, eating one big mouthful after another until grease ran down his chin.
"Is it really that good?"
Wang Dong and Xiao Xiao were skeptical. They picked up a hamburger in both hands and sniffed it. It smelled pretty good.
They opened their mouths and took a bite... and instantly reached heaven!
"This... It's way too delicious!"
"So fragrant, so tasty! It's bursting with juice!"
"Chu Feng, you're amazing!"
After tasting the deliciousness, Wang Dong and Xiao Xiao couldn't hold back. They wolfed down bite after bite.
They'd been hungry for a while, and now their appetites had been whetted. They didn't care about appearances either, eating until grease shone on their lips. Cream smeared their faces, making them look rather comical.
"Hey, what kind of food is that, and how much does it cost?"
Students had been watching for a while. Now that they saw the three of them eating with such gusto, a young man came over to ask.
"They're called hamburgers. Two Gold Soul Coins each," Chu Feng said coolly.
He hadn't set the price very high. Including labor, each hamburger cost close to one Gold Soul Coin to make.
He'd originally planned to charge ten Gold Soul Coins, but he wanted to build a reputation, so he was selling them cheaply for now. Besides, Shrek was full of suckers. He wasn't worried about finding buyers.
"Two Gold Soul Coins? Isn't that a bit expensive?" the young man asked with a frown.
"They're made with Soul Beast meat, so they're not cheap to make. This is the lowest price." Chu Feng answered while eating, not worried in the least that they wouldn't sell.
The young man furrowed his brow slightly, but seeing how enthusiastically the three were eating, his curiosity finally got the better of him. He handed over two Gold Soul Coins. "Give me one."
"Pick one yourself."
Chu Feng replied casually.
The young man picked one at random and cautiously took a bite. Then... he reached heaven too!
"Holy crap! This, this, this..."
"This is way too delicious!"
Clearly, the young man was a frugal student who was used to eating the academy cafeteria's pig slop. This was the first time he'd ever tasted such heavenly food. Tears streamed down his face, and he felt like his life had been worth it...
"Give me one!"
"I'll have one too!"
Seeing this, the students around them were all overcome with curiosity. Those without money could only drool, while those with money immediately slapped down two Gold Soul Coins.
Before long,
more than a dozen young men were squatting on the path beside Chu Feng, all eating until grease shone on their lips. Cream covered their faces, and they were laughing and crying at the same time. It was a ridiculous sight.
Chu Feng had only one hamburger left.
"Hello, junior. May I ask what this food is?"
Just then, a gentle voice rang out.
Chu Feng wiped his face and looked up. A young woman had appeared in front of his food cart without him noticing.
She looked only fourteen or fifteen, with a tall, slender figure. Her long golden hair fell in waves down her back, her skin was fair as snow, and her eyes were clear as a pool of water. With each glance, she exuded an air of elegance and refinement.
Those waves, that gentle gaze—Chu Feng recognized her at once: Jiang Nannan!
Jiang Nannan and Xu Sanshi had quite a tangled history. Jiang Nannan didn't feel much for Xu Sanshi, but Xu Sanshi—well, he was deeply in love with her.
"I made them myself. They're called 'hamburgers,' and they cost two Gold Soul Coins each." Chu Feng finished off another hamburger, wiped his mouth, and said with a smile.
"Two Gold Soul Coins... Sorry to bother you, junior."
At that, Jiang Nannan's expression changed slightly. She turned and was about to leave.
Her family had been poor since she was a child. It wasn't that she couldn't afford two Gold Soul Coins; she just felt that spending that much purely to satisfy her appetite was wasteful.
"Clink—"
Just then, two gleaming Gold Soul Coins landed on Chu Feng's stall. A domineering voice rang out: "Kid, I'll take that hamburger."
As he spoke, a young man in a red robe appeared out of nowhere and reached for the last hamburger.
"Whoosh—"
Chu Feng reacted quickly, snatching the last hamburger away and casually pushing the two Gold Soul Coins back.
"Kid, what do you think you're doing?!"
Xu Sanshi flew into a rage, his eyes full of menace.
"I'm not full yet. This one's not for sale." Chu Feng glanced at him coolly and replied.
"Fuck!"
"Brat, you've got a death wish! Nannan likes this food, so you're selling it whether you want to or not!"
"Bang—"
As soon as Xu Sanshi finished speaking, he slammed a palm down on Chu Feng's cart. The terrifying force caved in the sheet-metal cart, leaving a huge dent.
"Don't cause trouble here. Come with me to the Soul Fighting Arena." Chu Feng glanced at Xu Sanshi coolly.
He wasn't angry in the slightest. If anything, he was pleased. A sucker like this had walked right up to him, and he couldn't be happier.
"Hmph. You? You're not qualified to fight me."
Xu Sanshi crossed his arms and looked at Chu Feng with disdain, sneering.
"Chicken."
The corner of Chu Feng's mouth curled up as he spat out the word.
"Fuck! Say that again!" Sure enough, Xu Sanshi exploded on the spot, pointing at Chu Feng and cursing. "Let's go, then! Who's afraid of who? I'll even let you have two Soul Rings!"
"Eight tonight. The Soul Fighting Arena."
"Whoever doesn't show up is a dog."
Chu Feng set a time with him.
"Fine!"
"I'll show you what it means to respect your senior!"
Xu Sanshi still looked thoroughly contemptuous, and was already planning to teach this ignorant new student a good lesson.
"Here, it's yours."
Chu Feng casually pushed the hamburger in front of Xu Sanshi.
Xu Sanshi stared blankly, not understanding what Chu Feng meant.
"Eat up before you head to your grave."
The corner of Chu Feng's mouth curled up, and a playful glint flashed in his eyes.
"I'll fucking—"
Xu Sanshi unleashed a torrent of curses, but in the end, he still took the hamburger with him, because it was something Jiang Nannan liked to eat.
It didn't matter if he had to suffer, but Jiang Nannan had to be happy!!!
PS: The relationship between Jiang Nannan and Xu Sanshi in the original was written so disgustingly. What's more, the original put their sexual relationship at age fifteen in the Valley of Qiankun Questioning Love, forcibly whitewashing Xu Sanshi.
From the earlier parts of the original, it was obvious that what happened between them must have taken place before they were twelve.
I'll make some minor changes later in this book. Simps never get a happy ending.
